  8. I'm 65 and started the diet June 26 (bmi 38) I don't know how to do the tracker yet, just learning to get around. I lost 11.5 lbs started at 236, now 225,5. trying to get to 154 i hope, I was 150 when I was younger until I had uterine cancer and had to have a hysteroctomy, then my weight went from 165 to 196 got married 2nd time was single 19 first husband abusive, but met my husband in church we are both born again, Retired because Bob had lung cancer then Father in Law died and I had to quite work to sell the house and take care of husband. Tried getting a job, but they only lasted a few months and then lost them, In my old city Middletown Ny I use to swim regularly. and when I live now YMCA or Gold's gym are 1 hour away. My hairdresser is going to let me use her communty pool when I can go swimming again., Had my surgery yesterday, had headache, gas pain in my shoulder, incisions hurt, but tolerable, also had extreme sore throat, but all that subside today, everything is good, on liquid diet until I see dr on Monday, today is Thurs, thinking of going to support group but it is 45 minutes away, not sure how I will fair driving that long, will try anyway. Glad to see other seniors, had the lapband, I feel like a new person, i purchased a bathing suit size 14, can't wait to be that size, I went from 2x to xl with 11 lb weight lost, so that was great I have a lot of xl siZes.
  9. Had my surgery yesterday, was not bad, as I imagine, It was great. Went hospital 9am, surgery10:30am, went to bariatric floor at noon, left hospital at 3:30pm went to Wal-Mart, bough a sit up pillow (the kind you would watch tv with, great suggestion)and pill crusher and generic Tylenol from Alitons pharmacy. Called my family and friends to tell them I was ok after surgery, drank ,my liquids, symptoms, pain in left shoulder, sore throat and headache, I had 2 surgeries in May and June and never had these symptoms especially the headache and the sore throat. I think this anesthesiologist is not as good as the one in Scranton Orthopedic nor Crystal Run Healthcare, because I didn’t have any of those symptoms. when I had surgeries for torn menicus in my kneee and a endoscopy for am ulcer/ Two suggestion given to me by women in my bariatric group was to have cystal light hard candy to suck on for dry mouth and gasx strips, to help with gas pain in my shoulder I used both and did well. gasx strip were hard to find, but they are better than the chewable, I found them in a pharmacy walmart did not have them. I felt great after surgery like I started a new life, also I wore a dress to hospital so I would have no extra pain around my mid section, Had to sleep on my back,I went up stairs to my bedroom with no difficul, someone also suggestion I got the pillow that you would use to sit on floor to watch tv, to prop youself up in bed and I got it at Wal-mart fo $13, could read in bed and use my lap top, I also had a body pillow which helped with my sleeping, I 'm still have knee pain for my surgery in May so I have mote than you would experience. I was told by living with lapband.com forum, about the gas pain in my shoulder which has helped me immensely. Bought a size 14 bathing suit a and Capri exercise pants 14 look at them when I get up and at night so I can think thin, I can’t wait to get in them.
