Thanks! I totally agree. I'm not doing this just to lose the weight. I've done that before. I want long term success and a healthy life. To be clear, it was the nurse tat said that. The surgeon has said over and over that I'm the perfect candidate.
Went for my pre op appointment with my surgeon today. His nurse weighed me and was so excited for me that I am now down 26.5lbs he said, "you go girl! Are you really sure you want the surgery? You're doing this on your own great!" Whaaaaa? Yes, I'm sure! My date is the 7th and I have worked my butt off and I thought that was the point.
I'm approaching the end of the second day of my pre op diet. I didn't gnaw off my arm, so I'm calling it a success! Does this get easier or harder as you get closer to surgery?
Am enjoying a delicious bowl of broccoli as day one of seven of my pre op diet is almost over. It has been different, but not too bad. If I wasn't so excited, it could be called torture. :-D
Hello! My name is Casey and I'm scheduled for August 7th. I have lost 25 lbs prepping for the band and begin the liquid prep diet on this Tuesday. My DH and I are both getting this done. He will probably have his the end of Sept. We have made huge changes together and are so excited to enjoy the rest of our lives! We have three daughters ages 6, 5 and 4. The girls have really enjoyed and benefitted from our new, much more active lifestyle. I feel hugely blessed to have this tool available to us.
