  1. Congrats!! How has your recovery been going? I've been on Xanax for years, they definitely help when I'm super overwhelmed. I've been watching some YouTube videos of Before and Afters to try and stay excited!
  2. I've suffered from anxiety/panic attacks for as long as I can remember. I received my surgery date last Friday of March 1st. And since then it's been like one constant anxiety attack. I feel sick to my stomach. I was so excited before and couldn't wait for my date, and now I'm so blah. :(Has anyone else had to deal with high anxiety before surgery?
  3. Thank you ladies! I'm planning on asking my doctor next week when I see him! 18 days and counting!!
  4. I'm Pre Op right now, my surgery is March 1st. All of this talk about hair loss has me so nervous! I have really long black hair, it's been like my security blanket all of these years. I'm thinking of starting Biotin now, but I'm unsure how much to take. For those of you that take it, what is the dosage? And where do you buy it? Thanks in advance!
  5. So far I've told my parents, 3 sisters, boyfriend and my very best friend. I'm considering telling one other friend. I'm only 26, and I live in a town full of people who love to talk, the last thing I need is my weight loss surgery being among the topics. That's my theory on it!
  6. I love the Premier Protein shakes! The chocolate one tastes just like chocolate milk! Plus they are already made so its a lot easier than mixing your own. Good luck!
  7. You're last supper sounds delicious!! I went to culinary school so I'm a pretty good cook. Our Valentines Dinner/Last Supper will be Arrancini Balls with a pesto dipping sauce to start and Braised short ribs, asiago mashed potatoes, and garlic spinach for our main course! I'm sure I'll be content after that!
  8. I start my pre op diet February 15th! I'm planning on cooking my boyfriend Valentines dinner (it's our tradition). Now that I know it's the last night I can really eat before surgery I've changed the menu to all my favorites haha. As far as the "pigging out" goes, I still have to loose weight before my surgery so I'm not really planning on doing that. I'll probably try to hit up a few of my favorite restaurants this week though!
  9. I started this journey back in July and finally received my surgery date yesterday. I'll be sleeved March 1st! Once I hung up the phone yesterday, it really hit me. In 3 weeks I'm having surgery! As of now I'm excited, I know I'll be more nervous and anxious as time gets closer.
  10. That's my Kane! He's my heart & soul!
  11. I just got my date this morning! March 1st it is!!
  12. 3 week from today for me! I just got my date this morning! So excited!
  13. I started this journey back on July 5th and after completing Tufts "Can change" program and all my doctors requirements, I finally got my surgery date today! March 1st! 3 weeks from today!! I can't believe it!! I'm ecstatic!
  14. I'm 26, 5'8" and I'm currently 277. My norm used to be 185, and at that weight, I was curvy, fabulous and loving it. Unfortunately over the past 2 years I've gained a lot of weight. I'm hoping after my surgery to be around 160-170. But all I really care about is being toned and healthy!!
  15. My boyfriend has been wanting to go skydiving the past 3 years, unfortunately I'm over the weight limit. I don't want him to know that (I'm so embarrassed) , so I keep telling him I'm too scared to do it..which I am, I'm terrified, but I know it'll be one of those experiences I look back on and I'm so glad I did it. This Summer I should be under the weight limit, and am planning on surprising him with us doing it!
  16. I thought this would be fun.. I'm looking forward to not shopping in the "big girls" section anymore (Bye Bye Lane Bryant!), throwing away my Spanx, Picking out boots without worrying if they are going to fit my calves, Slipping on a little black dress for a night on the town with my girlfriends, Marrying the love of my life in a form fitting Pnina Tornai dress  , Running a Spartan race with my sisters, Picking out bathing suits and actually looking forward to wearing them, Skydiving, Riding on the back of my boyfriends Harley, Not always being the biggest girl in the group, Having less knee and back pain, Fitting on rollercoasters better..etc What are you all looking forward to?
  17. Hi all. I'm new here to the forum. I'm just graduated the Tufts "Can Change" program and am finally finding out my surgery date on the 7th. I'm so excited! I was wondering how many of you kept your surgery a secret? So far I've told my family, my very best friend and my boyfriend. I was just wondering how others handled their situation. Thanks in advance!
  18. Running in a Spartan Race with my sister, fitting into a sexy black dress for a night on the town with my man, throwing away my Spanx!! Wearing boots that fit my legs the right way, not having to shop in the Plus Size section at any store!! Enjoying the rest of my 20's healthy and fit!
  19. I'm enrolled in Tufts "Can Change" program..2 months down! 4 months to go! I graduate the program January 5th, and my surgeon is planning on doing my procedure within a month. I'm so excited for the band! I wish this process was faster!! Any advice of stuff I should do while I wait? I've already started looking into different protein shakes and finding recipes for "mushy food".
  20. I was smoking a pack a day of Reds. I have asthma and it was terrible for me, but I did it for almost 7 years. I quit cold turkey in January, and it was the best thing I ever did. I'm constantly surrounded by smokers..both my parents smoke, my boyfriend, and almost all of my friends. I felt like it was unrealistic for me to think I wouldn't be around smokers, their everywhere. And of course from time to time I really want one, but I won't allow myself to have one. I have really strong willpower. If you don't think you can quit cold turkey, my advice is to start smoking a brand you don't like, and also try stopping your "favorite" one. For me, my "favorite" was the one I smoked on the way to work. Once I stopped having that one, it was a lot easier. Just a few pointers! Good luck! You can do it!
  21. How common is a slipped band? It seems like a lot of members here have had it happen. For those of you who have had it happen..does it alter your opinion on the band? I'm not banded yet and all this talk of slipping bands it making me slightly nervous.
  22. My doctor told me it could be up to 2 weeks before they called, but luckily it was only about 4 days later! Try not to miss the call and any call therefore after. She told me if you miss them its equivalent to missing an appointment and Tufts can either drop you from the program or make you restart it. Are you from Mass?
