I have had to restart taking it. I started having acid reflux about 3 weeks out from surgery, and it was causing me to dry cough all day and night. It took me about 5-6 days after taking it again to finally be normal.

I went to Dr. Kelly. My surgery was 7-25-12. I stopped taking in a week after surgery. They just said it was for my stomach, and I really didn't know what that meant . . .

Thanks. Today, I am feeling very week. I started back to work yesterday, and it wasn't that bad. Being on Clear liquids does not help provide much energy though. I start full liquids tomorrow.

I'm getting ready to get picked up in 3 hours to be taken to the hospital. I have a major caffine headache and would love to drink Water. Other than that, I'm actually a little excited. I'll post my journey throughout the next few days here for others interested in Dr. Kelly. So far they have been great. Don't be jealous, but they are actually picking me up at my house, since I live closer than the airport.

Okay. I was a little nauseous this morning. I'm worried about nutrition.

I have a lower BMI as well. I decided against the Lap Band because it seems many gain the weight back and you have to go in for band fills. I was very interested in plication because there was no removal of the stomach. I researched a lot, however, and US and MX doctors (for the most part) were iffy on plication and what long term impact it will have. Plication does not remove the hunger hormones like Sleeve, so I think you will end up still hungry, just not able to eat. That would be miserable. Therefore, I elected the sleeve. I've not been hungry yet (just a few days out), but I am worried about nurtition. I think the nutrition concern is applicable to all three types.

I can't tell you for sure who has the most experience with the sleeve, but after researching all of the doctors you listed I decided to go to Dr. Kelly. He seemed to have more years experience and prefers the sleeve over plication. I was initially going to go to Oritz for plication, until I read more about the procedures. It seems to me that Dr. Oritz does more plications than sleeves.

Congrats! I think you are doing fabulous! I wouldn't call that a slow loss at all.

I had the leak test yesterday morning. The leak test was a little weird. I got to watch it, and some of the Fluid got stuck in my throat. They kept asking me to swallow saliva to get it to go down. I passed the test though. Since I live in San DIego, I asked if I could come home instead of going to the hotel. They brought me home yesterday, yay. So much better to be in my own environment! I have A LOT of gurgling going on in my stomach. Some pain once in a while, but I think that is from swallowing air with the liquids. I'm only on Clear Liquids for a week. I'm really worried about nutrition.

I should be leaving the hospital today and going to the hotel. I've had a little pain, I believe from gas near the incision sites, but it has not been bad. I have only been on Water and ice chips for over 2 days now - I'm not hungry, but worried about nutrition. I should be able to eat popsicles and broth today. Other than one of the nurses being sick and sneezing on me, the hospital staff has been great.

I forgot, they did an xray of my chest and stomach too.

OK. I'm at the hospital. Cecy is Dr. Kelly's wife. She is very nice. I spoke with Dr. Kelly. He was great and answered all my questions. They have weighed me, taken a urine sample, taken blood, put in an IV, done an ekg, and put on the compression socks. The cardiologist, Dr. David Garcia, commented about my lower BMI. I'm not sure if he was questioning me getting the surgery. He did say I am low risk for cardiology issues:)

Still waiting for Cecy. She was supposed to be here an hour ago.

I actually asked myself that today. I have the surgery tomorrow and am getting nervous. I told myself - "Because I won't just eat half or small portions. I've been trying to do that for years, but still end up eating more than I should and look where that got me."

My surgery is with Dr. Kelly tomorrow. They pick me up at 10 a.m. I'll post as much information as I can during the process.

It is definately YOUR turn! That is so true. My sister is much heavier than I am and she rocks it! I don't have that same confidence with my body. In other areas of my life Ihave confidence, but not over my fat.

Thanks OTR. My boss is the CEO of the company, and I don't think he will really understand (or that it is his business). I think he will question my judgement, which I cannot have. If needed, I think I'll just say it is a female issue since most of the people I directly work with are men. I'm the only women that directly reports to him.

I told my husband, but do not plan to tell anyone else. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what to tell my boss. So far, I'm going with - I'll be out for a few days because I am having elective surgery for a minor medical issue. If pushed, I will say it is of a personal nature. Thoughts? Omar from Dr. Kelly's office just called me and was giving me pre-surgery instructions. My son overheard and asked - "Your having surgery? When were you going to tell me?" He's not great a keeping secrets, so I told him I just told him I was having surgery on my stomach. He kept pushing so I said the doctor was going to remove some things (non cancerous in nature). He kept pushing - so I said like cists and I added that they may be the cause of my weight gain. He's 15, so he was kidding around and said, "Eww. You have pimples in your stomach?" Oh well, I'm not sure if him telling people I have pimples in my stomach is that is much better than just telling people about the WLS

What are bougies? I have between 60 and 70 to lose for me to be happy. I get my sleeve next Wednesday.
