  2. My surgeons office said that I should visit a registered dietician to increase the chances of insurance approval. Does anyone know of a nutrionist/dietician in or around the New Orleans area that is open on Saturdays or has evening appts after 5?
  3. Are you through Why Weight? I wanted an appt with Dr. Lavin in Metairie. They recommend a 6 months registered dietician for insurance approval.
  4. I just read the protocol and it states 'there should be a failure to sustain a 5-10% or more reduction in body weight prior to consultation for bariatric surgery. I

  7. Just like most of you. I am doing the 6 months of supervised dieting Will appts every 4 weeks be okay? Will the counts as 6 months? August 18 September 15 October 13 November 10 December 8 January 5 Any tips on what to ask the dr? The surgeons office gave me paperwork to give to the dr. Any tips on what not to do? What happens if I gain or lose 2 much? Lastly what can I do to pass time?. Lol

  10. That is what I keep telling my hubby. I can't wait to be a skinny b***h!...lol I am currently 265 with a goal weight of 150. What's your goal weight..btw I haven't been sleeved yet!
  11. If you have half the money saved up then you are almost there! Dr. Almanza office in Mexico will let have the surgery with just 3000 down(I think) and you can finance the rest with office. Talk with a patient advocate. Best of luck to you.
  12. I am right along with you in the waiting game. I start seeing my PCP this month and don't know what expect. I don't think there is a way around this req.
  13. Is this something required by the insurance or surgeons office? My insurance company says that all I need is a 6 month supervised diet? Bcbs of Wny
  14. I figured I would be done with the approval in January and hopefully have a date in February. I plan on telling my job in February and take my sick days to cover being out for surgery. They give you 10 sick days a year so I will be in the beginning. I will tell the supervisor but tell her its a personal. I am like you...working in a office full of women. I don't want everyone gossiping!
