  6. I am having my band in 4 days time and this evening my husband showed me a movie he 'd taken on his phone of our daughter learning to ride her bike. Behind her this old woman waddling along, it was me I am gutted at how awful I look and how I have allowedyself to become that thing in the picture. I realised before now I would have turned to food to squash my shame and fury ... Right now I am awash with feelings of pure revulsion of what I am and it hurts .... I know this is first of many times I have to deal with my emotions without the support of food .... Defining moment
  7. In UK, from my very limited experience of private hospital for this procedure, there is very little focus on protein. It's all about a good weightless before surgery to reduce liver... Will follow their instructions, am not a great milk drinker but it says in my indoor can be added to coffee....now I have read lots about avoiding coffee?? Who knows advice is sooo different out there x
  8. Hi I am also being banded on July 27th, am following a 1000 cal Pre op diet till 20th July then liquid diet for 7 days before ... Good luck, would love to know how you get on and to stay in touch. I have exactly 101 lbs to lose to get to just within healthy bmi but am aiming for 110lb... I know it will take a long time and I am prepared for the changes in eating, am scared of the emotional side moreso ... Good luck and keep in touch

  11. Its either 1.1 lit of semi skimmed milk per day with two very low fat yoghurts, along with sugar free squash, water, tea etc OR 3 slimfast shakes plus 5 mullerlight yoghurts. That's it?
  12. Cham, same surgeon and same hospital!! how funny! how are you finding pre op diet? I guess you are doing 7 days? 14. Has anyone else been given this one to do? 7 to 14 days before surgery?
  15. Hello everyone I met my surgeon last week and am having my band fitted in 13 days time. At the minute I swing between the emotions of fear and terror. This has been a long time coming for me, having tried every diet and weight loss plan ever invented! Also I am self funding the procedure at a private hospital so it's a big financial commitment as well. I am looking forward to the procedure being over and done with ... Surgeon advised a Pre op milk and yogurt diet or if that isn't doable a less than 1000 calories diet for 7 to 14 days before hand. I've been following the less than 1000 calories for six days and lost 5 lbs already... Am hoping to last out on that a while longer and go fully milk and yogurt for 7 days before the knife. Good luck everyone, all support and advice welcome xx
