  1. Yup, it was the only snow all winter except for one time in Jan. And second day of spring. Go figure!!! All gone today, but today I am enjoying some snow atop mount si.
  2. I am going to see if this menu is for real and try it out on my way home this afternoon. Been dying to exploit this place for healthy eating. Bwhahahaha....

  4. Sounds fantastic that you are being rewarded for good decisions. Congrats!
  5. We had 6 inches of snow yesterday in Everett area and it was a blizzard out. I had to do my training inside. Not today though. Sun is out, blue skies, and a beautiful day for a hike. Here is a picture from atop mount si. Mount Si is a hike for every one. 4000 feet of climb over 4 miles. Not terribly difficult, but you will get winded if not ready for it. There are runners, families, old people, young people, etc. Usually 100-200 people on the trail at a time so it gets a little crowded. I have not been up here in 20 years ( high school). Up in 45 min, a new personal record. The birds are hovering in front of me as I munch my Protein bar. The little beggars... First major hike since VSG. By the way, if you are interested in hikes this summer, I am looking for a local hiking buddy to do PCT, wonderland and enchantments. 6. That is really great you are out of the hospital. Even though there is the initial thrill and excitement at the beginning, it does get kind of old after a few days especially with the nurses waking you at crazy hours. Spent about a week there myself after surgery ( low O2 levels). Start walking every day. Start slow. There is no need to even think about jogging / running until you can walk really well for long distances. You want your lung capacity to be fully operational before you start huffing and puffing. The key is to do a little bit more each time you get out. Maybe an extra block, an extra mile etc. Spend the time to build up your health and endurance. Maybe even walk your first 5 k just to get an idea about the distance. There are many great walks for causes out there like the 3 day for breast cancer, walks for diabetes, etc. I am thinking about doing the 3 day this year to help out the cause. It might be good to start the c25k program after your doctor clears you for all exercises (usually 5-6 weeks). The benefit of using a program like c25k is that it is naturally progressive and you can always repeat days or weeks if you want to. Take it at a pace that works for you. Figuratively speaking, it is not a race to get to the end of post op weight loss phase. A gradual approach is helpful for most folks. A little better each week. Good luck in your post sleeve endeavors!
  7. What benefits are you deriving from the Chinese and Indian herbs if I may ask? Not very familiar with those.
  8. Nectar sweets are so good!! I am addicted to the Cookies and creme. Still order it and drink today at 8 months. The other sweets are good too like vanilla bean. Enjoy the truffle! It is good with PB2 to make a quasi Reece's pieces flavor.
  9. [quote name="Lisa ]I think I'm the cheapest date on the planet. I can take 3 drinks of a beer and feel like I need to hand my keys over!!! Needless to say' date=' I don't drink AT ALL!!!! LOL!![/quote'] 3 sips. Wow.
  10. Hi - my wife has this disease also. It can be so debilitating at times. She is taking remacaid (sp?), but she has also tried embrel in addition to hydrocodone / prednisone in the past. Are you able to talk to the rheumatologist about these other pain meicine options that are not NSAID? Remacaide has really made a quality of life difference for my wife. it is relatively new and is mouse protein! kind of strange considering she gets mouse Protein infused every 6 weeks, but hey, she can do so many more things now without pain. By the way, my wife is going to have VSG in a few months and her VST name is pheonix79 if you want to message her about pain medicine options.
  11. Good job man. That is a crazy fast time. Did you know that 35 minutes is the average for most adults who run the 5 k? You are considered a pretty good 5 k runner if you get below that.
  12. Let me also add I AM prone to cross over addiction. It is my personality. I like to experiment and try new things for the thrills of it.will not deny that. However, I am making exercise my addiction. It gives me more than enough thrills to keep me out of a dangerous place where I get bored and need to experiment with stuff. Do others have this problem?
  13. One glass is all it takes for me, even 1/2 glass. I had 2 once thinking two would be more fun then one, but it was not. I think drinking is really not that much fun any more because it is over pretty quick. Drank 2 times now since post 6 months op and now not sure I want to drink again. Pretty short buzz time and not worth it. Meh.
  14. I totally get sleep sexing (guilty) but sleep driving? How do you do that?
  15. You know- I seriously thought about signing up for a sky dive next week. I surprise myself sometimes. There is a small airport a few miles away where they have skydiving adventures.
  16. Sannah - that is so good to hear that you are on the up and up, even feeling good enough to work out. Many of us have been praying for your recovery and safe return to good health. Welcome back!
