  1. I too work in schools with similar policies. What I do is sip on protein shakes throughout the morning and then another In the afternoon. It helps me stay not hungry.
  2. Everything you are feeling is normal....you will feel a lot better as soon as your pain goes away. Just be patient...
  3. I was going to mention that I felt very very tight around my chest area ( and band) but as I was able to get rid of the gas (gas x, walking, burping, farting, and generally just moving around...all helped) it seemed to go away.
  4. In addition to lowering your calories you might increase you exercise or activity level.
  5. Thanks. I already feel better. I also had a heital hernia. So now I just have to wait to heal and continue to form my new habits. I have already lost 9 pounds which is helping motivate me ( that and the thought that I choose this to be healthier).
  6. I was banded yesterday afternoon and let me tell you last night sucked! I couldn't sleep for more than 15 minutes, I was in pain no matter what position I was in. Luckily today I much better. Still very gassy but I'm trying to walk a lot. I hope tonight I can gets some sleep.
  7. I was banded yesterday and I am having a tough time with the gas ( although it could be worse). How long does the gas last? Thanks!
  8. Thanks all. This whole journey from first visit to today has been about six weeks...quite the whirlwind! I'm sitting in training right now, however its really hard to pay attention. Luckily they are almost done and I cam go get my husband and go to the hospital.
  9. Congratulations! That's wonderful
  10. 6 1/2 hours to go! I a bit nervous but not too bad. I hope that isn't going to work this morning it will take my mind off of it. I also hope that I have not forgot to bring anything with me to the hospital.
  11. Hi, I am in a similar situation. My doctors office office called on Tuesday 7/24 and I will be banded on Tuesday 7/31. I have to be on a pre-op diet for that week. The diet is phase one of the south beach diet. I have been good and not even wanting to cheat until tonight. I really wanted a glass of wine with dinner but I refrained...I am so greatful that I have been able to stay with it. However, now I'm starting to worry about what I'm missing in my prep for operation .
  12. Good luck! I was told I was approved by insurance the day before I was scheduled. It was very quick turn around.
  13. My doctors office just called and set my surgery date for Tuesday 7/31! I cannot believe it...I have to start my pre-op diet now...but it's high protein, low carbs, low/no suger(south beach). I'm so excite but now I have to take time off of my new job (just got a promotion from a teacher to a counselor). And then I'm not really sure what else I have to do....
  14. I too will be banded in August. I am nervous that my family will not be supportive. My husband knows and understands the process and says that he will be support me but I don't know if he really will once the changes are necessary.
  15. My doc said my tentative surgery date was 7/31 however I still don't have a pre-op appoint with the surgeon and I don't have insurances final approval yet...so I'm very unsure that i will really get it done this month ( and I really want too).
  16. Hi, I'm new to the forum's. I will be going through True Results in Richardson tx. I've been told my insurance will pay all but my co-insurance ( which amounts to about $2500). Is this typical? Thx, Jw
