Hello June Sleevers! My surgery was 6/27/12 I'm 5ft 9in tall Starting weight 2 weeks before surgery was 302 My weight today is 198. I'm wearing size 12-14. The weight is coming off slowly now but I am soooo happy with the results. I am running 5k's and trying to keep focused on eating healthy. Life is good. I am getting a lot of comments from people saying I don't need to lose anymore weight but I am just going to keep doing what I'm doing and if it comes off than it just comes off. I hope everyone is doing well

I posted this story when it happened but let me tell you what was said to me after I lost around 40 lbs. I work at an elementary school and when school started in August I was walking around the cafeteria asking the students how there summer was when a 4th grade student said "Ms. Luce It looks like you have grown taller" I thought that was so cute. I think that b/c I had lost the weight it gave the illusion that I had grown taller. I got a good laugh from that.

Thank you guys soooo much. There are so many of you on this forum that have inspired me. I am so thankful for a great group of people that I can share my journey with!!

I have lost 85 lbs from my highest weight of 302. I am now 217. I went from a size 22-24 to 14-16. I feel so much better mentally and physically. I started training for a 5K run last week. It is going to be at the end of January. I am very excited. I have had a lot of support from you folks on this forum and I'd like to thank you. I have 40 lbs to goal. I will be hanging around here for a while longer.

I am in the same boat. I gained a pound. This was a wake up call for me. I haven't excercised since I was sleeved on 6/27. So this is what I did. My daughter is a runner so I asked her to sign me up for a 5K run. So I have started training for that. The run is at the end of January. So I have 8 weeks to get ready. I am using a program called "couch to 5K" it helps you to ease your way into being prepared to run the 5K in 9 weeks. This has really motivated me. I hope this helps.

I had my surgery there with Dr. Garcia in June. It is a small hospital but it has everything you need. There's even a small sandwich shop type cafeteria on the first floor across from the pharmacy I believe. In case you bring someone with you. The room I stayed in had two beds. My husband was able to stay in the room with me. It had a small flat screen TV. It also had a window and a private bathroom. Very clean. I had a good experiance with the hospital and Dr. Garcia and his staff.

I eat chicken, beef, and alot of greek yogurt. When I see that I am not going to make it to my protein goal for the day I will drink a protein shake. It is usually a whey protein (body fortress) shake. I have to force it down b/c I don't like the taste. So I heard that the soy protein shakes taste much better, but I know that some proteins are not good for us or should I say our bodies absorb some proteins better than others. And was wondering if soy protein was a good or bad choose. I hope this makes sense

I do not have a NUT so I am hoping someone can tell me whether or not soy protein is a good choice or if I should stick with the whey protein. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I was sleeved June 27th. My highest weight 302. The day of surgery I weighed 285.5 Today I weighed 231. Total weight loss 71 lbs. Went from size 24 to size 18. I have 56 lbs to go to goal. Yeah!!
