  1. I went to Dr Ortiz in Tijuana and I had a great experience, surgery on Tuesday and back at work o Saturday, that was 2 years ago and i would do it again!
  2. Has anyone had an endoscopy with the lap band? It has been almost 2 years since my lap band. I plan on getting this information from my GI dr but I still would like any information from this group. Thanks, Nancy
  3. I went to Dr Ortiz in Tijuana 02/07. Great experience, no problems ever
  4. I just went from 2.00cc up to 2.25 cc i asked my doctor to go between the 2 numbers but he said he can't. which i do not believe him but did not feel like arguing with him would do any good, what about anyone else?do other doctors give smaller fills than .25cc
  5. Dr. Mando is in Kenner and he charges 150.00 for a fill. I feel like he knows what he is doing. A few months ago, I panicked thought I had a slip but he treated me with meication and evrything has been fine.
  6. My top amount was 2.25 but I really was not able to eat real food and basically to my goal so had .25 taken out last week and what a difference!! but, I need to really start paying attention now to maintain or ven lose 5 pounds more.
  7. I am 5'0 tall and weighed @165 when I had my band. I had to pay for it and I went to Mexico, it is the best thing I could have done. It has been 9 months and I weigh @ 129. Like you, I tried and tried to lose weight but just could not and so rather than wait until I gained "enough" to qualify in the us. i made the decision to get the band. I have not regretted it once. I went to Dr Ortiz
  8. i went to dr ortiz in mexico and the experience was great, basically painless, i would very much recommend him to everyone. I have had no problems in the 8 months since surgery
  9. probably because you know where you "came from", you KNOW you are looking good and you are feeling good and i think it hurts a lot more to get knocked down from a higher place. and what freaking jerks,(i am putting it mildly) yes, i can see how fantasizing kicking their asses, humiliating them would speed up the treadmill, so they can't hurt you at all.........
  10. but look at how much weight you have lost!!!
  11. I have had reflux for about 5 days, it woke me up 2 nights so i went to dr today and he took .25 out and wrote me a prescription for reglan and protonics. he doesn't think my band slipped but i do, i have had it 7 months and these symptoms are new, i can't really keep anything down, what do you guys think
  12. I was very lucky, I had surgery in mexico but a dr in new orleans only charges 180.00 a fill, no other costs. there are a lot of doctors in this area that take pts from mexican surgeons
  13. I went to Dr Ortiz. I would do it all over again, no problems at all.
  14. The surgery, the trip, all of it was easy..... the hardest part is the liquid diet after surery. The pain was in my shoulder and where the port is but I went back to work in less than a week.
  15. I had my surgery by Dr Ortiz on Feb 27 and there were no problems at all. And there haven't been either. I would not hesitate to do it again.
