1. Has anyone used this doctor or his practice Texas Center for Obesity Surgery? I am attending a seminar there and wanted to know, if you used this practice, what you thought of them. Thanks!
2. This part of your quote is something I needed to read. I am projecting so far into the future myself and wonder what I'm going to do w/ all the skin, etc. I wonder if I will look older because I won't have fat in my face to fill out the wrinkles *lol* I need to get a firm grip on the fear that is controlling me and trying to throw up *self imposed* road blocks. Shoot, I haven't even decided which surgery is best for me yet!
3. Thanks! Sorry for posting about something that has been played out. I will do a search on Mexico posts =)
4. I keep reading about people having their surgery done in Mexico. Is this safe? How qualified are these doctors? How did you find a great doctor in Mexico? I will be self-pay and I am still trying to decide between lap band surgery and gastric bypass. Anne
5. You are not alone. I don't have health insurance so I never thought wls would happen for me. My brother is giving me either surgery as a "gift of life" - he is the best. I'm scared to death of dying too especially if I go with gastric bypass. I'd hate for him to pay all that money only for me to die in the process. That would scar him for life.
6. Did anyone have their band done in Dallas? If so, what doctor did you use and how would you rate him/her?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Anne
7. I'm very blessed to have a family that loves me dearly. My big brother told me this weekend that he wants to pay for wls for me. I could never get approved through my insurance company years ago and my current job doesn't offer insurance. I asked him if he realized how much money was involved and he said yes. He wants to give me the "gift of life". Needless to say, I cried like a baby. What a gift indeed. He thinks gastric bypass is what I should get but that surgery scares me and I'm leaning more towards the lap band but I'm really undecided. When I first tried to get wls only gastric bypass was around, so I'm researching the lap band. Can anyone tell me how they have done long term on the band? Have you kept the weight off? What are some of the things you hate about the band and what you like about the band. Thanks in advance for you help!
