  1. Is it OK to have watermelon after only 1 month? I love watermelon and have been craving all summer!
  2. I was sleeved June 23. Are there any sleevers out there from Las Vegas?
  3. I was sleeved June 23. Are there any sleevers out there from Las Vegas?
  4. Thanks so much for posting the recipes! I went out today and bought ingredients and will do some cooking tomorrow.
  5. I may be a little late, but my son also had seizures from the age of 18 months until the age of 5. He also was in the hospital and given all the neuro tests and nothing conclusive but he was put on the seizure meds. I hated the way they made him lethargic and slow. I took him from doctor to doctor looking for an answer and finally found a gift from God. This doctor took the time to explain that my son had a "Febrile Seizure" condition. Basically his body did not react to a virus or infection in the normal way. So when there was an infection present his temp would go up but his body did not hate a "thermostat" to contol the fever and so when it got too high his brain would seize his body - basically to cool it down. The doctor basically taught me to keep a thermometer in his baby bag and check it once a day. If he did have a fever, I gave him tylenol and kept an eye on the fever. As long as I controlled the fever with meds, tepid baths and and cool cloths he didn't have a seizure. The only times that he seized from 18 months to 5 years was when he got sick during the day at the nursery and they did not realize it, but it wasn't often. Maybe this is what your son has and NOT epilepsy. You are his strongest advocate, make sure they have the right diagnosis! Good luck and God Bless! BTW - Sounds like you have a great support network -- Have the surgery! It will be a gift to yourself and your family!
  6. I am thrilled for you! I know how it feels to get right around the corner from surgery but it will come really fast! I was sleeved June 23rd and it's the best thing I ever did!
  7. I found it! http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/44645-pre-op-low-carb-diet-all-hail-cauliflower/page__hl__%2Bcauliflower+%2Brice__fromsearch__1 THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP!
  8. Thanks for the recipe, but no it wasn't the one! This member talked about making "Cauliflower Rice" and then posted several recipes using the "rice". I can't believe that I didn't write them down. Oh Well, I will keep looking. Thanks so much for giving me this recipe!
  9. Can you please tell me how to do that? I am still VST challenged! Haha
  10. I was sleeved on June 23 and I lost 20 lbs in the first two weeks then nothing! It is encouraging to know that I am not alone. I have a friend that was sleeved two weeks before I was (5 weeks ago) - she has lost 43 lbs! I think that's amazing but I don't understand it! I put my scale up today and will weigh only once a week. I was getting really obsessed and depressed. All in all, I am thrilled to have lost the weight!
  11. I agree with Doxie mom! I was sleeved 21 days ago and I am easily irritated and seem to have no patience. My husband is in excellent shape and healthy and has been amazingly supportive, but he still has to eat and since he doesn't cook, I have been cooking really healthy meals for him. GUESS WHAT? I get irritated watching him eat a Grilled chicken Breast, potatoes and a salad! Go figure?!?!?!? Our sleeve is a tool that we were blessed with, but I know I have a long way to go to fight my own demons! Hang in there I hear it gets better and easier! BTW - I have lost 20 lbs in the first 2 weeks and have not lost a thing in the past 7 days! What about you?
  12. I was reading a an email yesterday where one member posted some really awesome cauliflower recipes. If it was you, please repost -- I have been searching all day for your last post and I can't find it! If anyone else has some recipes please post -- I know that the cauliflower dishes really help keep the "HUNGRY GREMLINS" away! Thanks!
  13. I was sleeved on June 23. First 12 days I list 23 lbs but have post nothing in 5 days. I am on pureed foods and getting all my protein, vitamins, and at least 50 ozs. of liquids. I hope the weight gets going again soon. Congrats to all June sleevers! Lets all keep in touch!
  14. Hi guys! I am 2 weeks post-op! Please add me on Fitness pal: fannincr I am now on the pureed meats and veggie diet. Begin on liquids is really hard. How come you have to stay on it? I hope we can stay in touch and help each other since we had our surgeries around the same time.
  15. The Lean Protein Shakes from GNC saved my life! The strawberries and cream tastes like Nestles Strawberry Quik! I spent hundreds on powder and premixed shakes and these were the best especially ice cold! If you go in, they will let you taste it.
  16. I had surgery on June 23rd. I am two weeks out and have lost 23 lbs. This morning I had gained 3 lbs. I am taking down all protein, vitamins, 4 oz food-3 x per day. 64 ozs liquid. Total calorie intake is around 500. What am I doing wrong? Your help is really appreciated! I am feeling frustrated.
  17. Forgot to say that I started at 263 on June 23.
  18. I had my sleeve on June 23rd. A few days ago I weighed in at 235.7, but today I was 240. Is this normal? I have been drinking 2 protein shakes and my three 4 oz meals. I am even getting my liquids down. Yesterday was two weeks! Advice anyone?
  19. I am 6 days out and feel like my stomach us full of chemicals. Called my Dr and she allowed me to start my 2ND week diet. I am struggling with my proteins the most. Does anyone have a good suggestion for protein powder to add to food. I am totally over the clear isopure.
