  1. I use the isopure zero, 160 cals, 40g whey protein, no carbs or sugars. Made with Splenda. I'm allergic to aspartame so I've had a big struggle finding sugar free stuff not made with that or stevia (feels like it leaves a layer of fat on my tongue). I get mine at vitamin shoppe and they sell individuals do you try the diff flavors before buying a whole case. Of course the case is cheaper but better to figure out what you like first.
  2. I didn't even get the chance to panic going into the OR. The CRNA said I'm giving you this to help you relax on the way to OR. Yeah whatever that was, I fell asleep instantly & then woke up in PACU. The main complication I had was from bring npo for around 33 hours post-op which meant I couldn't take my Effexor. Unfortunately Effexor can cause horrible withdrawal symptoms which prolly contributed to my horrible n/v (which was really only dry heaves cos nothing in my stomach) but I'm on day 3 back on my Effexor, crushed of course & doing way better. Day of surgery was freaking out my dad who didn't want me to have it especially when I was so sick. He's okay now that I'm doing way better
  3. Glad I found this thread. I actually had my period the week before my surgery, which was last week. Today I'm post-op 3 days and I got my period again. I was like great, on top of all the changes I'm going thru now I gotta deal with this. Hopefully it is due to hormones being out of whack cos of the major changes to our bodies. I'll just have to monitor it. Plus it could be from stopping birth control in the middle of 1st week of pills. My doc told me even if I continue my pack it won't make a difference until 6 weeks post-op. oh not having problems with smells but all the foods I see on tele look totally disgusting. lol
  4. I'm 3 days post-op. I had a hard time drinking 28 oz of my isopure yesterday, mainly due to nausea & indigestion. Started my h2 pump inhibitor yesterday & indigestion is not as bad now. Today has been better, I've been able to drink almost 40oz of isopure, had beef broth, hot herbal tea & sipping on ice water. My friend had her surgery almost a year ago & she was like it gets better. I know I just gotta make it thru the next 4 days & I can add in the whole liquids.
