  1. !!!!!!!!!!!!!I am so happy!!!!!!!! And just in time to start my liquid diet tomorrow. Surgery Nov 20th. Only 8 days. I have to muster up all my strength for this preop liquid diet. It seems like Sooooo long with zip, zero, no food. But I'm gonna be strong.
  2. Thanks for the responses!!!!!! And congratulations on everyone's weight loss so far!! Looks like you are all doing great!!!
  3. I am 2 weeks away from surgery and starting my liquid diet on 11/13. I'm just setting my Mfp trying to get ready and I would really appreciate it if u would add me. It would really help me to look at how others are eating. Thanks!! My username is KLOGAN75.
  4. Do any of you longterm sleevers ever wish you had the bypass instead of the sleeve? And if you do for what reasons? I have researched both and know the pros and cons for both. I have always felt confident that the sleeve is for me however every once in a while I think with the bypass I would lose faster or more importantly lose more of my excess weight. Faster is not the end all be all to be but the thought a better percentage of weight loss sticks in my mind. I still feel the sleeve is for me but wanted to hear everyone's thoughts.
  5. Here on the eastern shore if Maryland! Wind is really picking up and rain rain rain! they're still saying we're still to come. Everybody stay safe!!
  6. I have been thinking about just this all day. I have completed all my requirements I have my last preop appt Nov 5th and then they can submit to insurance and I just have to wait. I am scared to death they will deny it. I already have surgery date for Nov 20th. I have arranged off work, fmla, made home arrangements..etc etc.. I have planned every I can but they control my fate. Don't give up. I hope and pray I am approved but it not I'm gonna fight!!
  7. You look wonderful! Congrats! Thanks for.posting.
  8. Yay! Sleeve sisters! I did have an upper GI already, and I had to attend a nutrition class and support group session. I also had to have a pysch eval. I don't have to have an EGD so I have met all my requirements. I have my preop appointment Nov 5th and then I am ready to go! The count down is on! So 2 weeks of liquid diet preop? I think that is going to b the hardest part for me.
  9. My surgery is November 20th and I can't wait! I feel like my life is on hold until then. I have a wonderful husband and a great life but I hate the way that I look and I'll let it limit me so much. I want to start letting myself fully enjoy life, and be happy with myself. I of course have my fears......complications.....regain....failure...will it work for me? But I have never doubted this is what I need to do since I made the decision to have surgery. I'm 3 weeks I will be starting my 1 week liquid preop diet! I wouldn't mind skipping that part! Lol..but it will all be worth it.
  10. Just wondering how you are? Did you have to have the bypass? My surgeon told me that every sleeve surgery is at risk of having to convert to a bypass if the sleeve is too small but her has never had to do it. I have never heard of it getting twisted. Pretty scary I'm sure. Hope you are feeling better!
  11. I was told to calculate by taking the amount of weight lost divided by the total amount of weight u want to lose. Ex...50 loss .....goal to lose 125 lbs. 40% excess weight loss.
  12. Im November 20th.....49 days and counting in Maryland!
  13. Looks to me like VST members are above the norm! I'm sure some if everyone's success is the support they gain here! Thanks for the motivation. It just shows me the more committed and determined I am the better I will do.
  14. Thanks for the responds! Everyone seems to be doing great!Congrats to everyone I can't wait to join you. My Dr tells me his practice average between 75-83% loss for his sleeve patients. Here's hoping....I know everyone is different
  15. For those of you near or at your goal weight what percentage of excess weigh did you lose? Just wondering how folks on this forum compare to the statistics.
