    Any Pa sleevers?

Great! I had my surgery November 2012 and have lost over 100 lbs. Best decision I ever made!!! It was rough in the beginning but I followed the recommendations from Dr. Katz and never got sick or had anything stick. I am still amazed at my weight loss and the clothes shopping is amazing. Keep me posted!!

    Any Pa sleevers?

I do attend the support groups at Springfield Country Club - but I don't go every month -- I like to see who the speaker or presenter will be. How are you feeling??

Down 72 lbs. -- hoping for at least another 30 -- the weight loss seems to have slowed up a bit.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

I was sleeved on 11/7/12 -- I am down 55 lbs. I am also losing hair. The doctor says it is very common -- once it starts your hair follicles go through a cycle -- they tell me not to worry -- it will grow back (I sure hope so). I am attempting to get my Protein in but am having a hard time as I am not hungry and really don't feel like eating (I guess that's a good thing). All my blood work came back great but my protein was a little low. So I will push myself a bit to eat more protein. I am also very faithful about taking my Vitamins. I am only taking Iron every couple of days.
  6. I was sleeved on 11/7/12 and had dry heaves within 24 hours of surgery. I was up through the night my first night after surgery with the dry heaves. They believe it was caused by the anesthesia. I was miserable. They took me off my pain meds IV the next morning and that evening gave me liquid tylenol with codeine and I brought that up. They ended up just giving me a shot through my IV to help. They also gave me something to help with the nausea. I was better by the time I went home 2 days later. It will pass!! Keep strong!!

    November 5Th Surgeries!

I am a November 7th sleever -- I also feel a little frustrated with the weight loss. I am currently on mushy foods and will progress to stage 4 on wednesday. I will get to have ground chicken or turkey added to my diet. I know that I am down almost 15 pounds since my pre-op diet but lately I feel like nothing is coming off. I am trying very hard to get my 50 oz. of water in but it is difficult and I know I am not getting enough protein. I just feel frustrated!!

    November 5Th Sleevers?

I am also having difficulty sleeping at night. I see the surgeon tomorrow and will have a conversation with him. I have taken Ambien in the past and may have to resort to taking one as I can't stand not getting good sleep. I am not taking any protein as yet and hoping to advance to stage 2 diet tomorrow -- yippee!!

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Had my surgery on November 7th -- came home 2 days later. I cannot believe how exhausted I was -- feeling much more lively each day. I also had a bad case of the dry heaves while in the hospital! I don't have any pain just soreness. My neck is really bothering me and I have horrible diarrhea. I called the surgeon's office and they say that is normal. Everything I eat (clear liquids) goes right through me. YUK!! Just so glad to be home -- went out yesterday with husband to the drug store and today to buy more jello -- we had beautiful weather here and I wanted to get out. I am hoping that I will be able to take myself out on Wednesday for a hair appointment -- I am not taking any pain medication.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Nov 7th for me -- the nerves have started to set in. I know I can do this --- not happy about the diet for the past 2 weeks but getting through it. I feel like I am going to float away with all the water I am drinking. Looking forward to next week -- it will all be over!!!

    I'm Sleeved!

    Congrats!!
  12. For the shakes they also recommended that I could add 1/2 frozen banana.
  13. Well I will let you know how they taste -- I got my blender all set up for tomorrow morning. We shall see. I am having terrible hip pain and also not looking forward to giving up the motrin. I know I will be much happier in a few weeks. I was feeling fine until this weekend. I guess since I am getting closer to the 7th the nerves have started to set in and we had that horrible Hurricane Sandy arrive and have not been out of the house since Saturday. Back to work tomorrow so I won't have too much time to be thinking about the nerves.
  14. For the headaches I have taken motrin but that will stop as of tomorrow as I can't take anything 1 week before surgery. Drink lots of fluid!!
  15. I have been at this pre-op diet for almost 1 week. I am finding it not too hard --- have had some headaches. I am sticking in protein, veggies and fruit. I purchased the GNC 100% whey protein shakes but am not looking forward to drinking the. Anyone tried them?? I also have started to get a bit nervous about the surgery (11/7). I know I can do this and it is for the better -- but my nerves have started to set in.

I have one a few weeks ago as I was low in B-12 and I also take the vitamin. Not sure how much this has hepled!
  17. I was just approved by my insurance company for surgery on November 7th -- I am excited, nervous, thrilled..... I did all the medical necessities -- cardiology, pulmonology, psychiatry, gynecology, gastroenterology -- I don't have any major health issues but know that as I continue to get older the health issues will come. This is a great group to follow and excited to be on this journey with all of you!!

    Cigna- Nightmare

This concerns me as I also have Cigna -- the surgeon's office did tell me that they can be difficult to deal with. The office will fax over information to Cigna and they say they never received it. I have a tentative date of November 7th -- so I will keep on top of the insurance company. Thanks!!
  20. Congratulations!! I just heard from my surgeon's office that I have a tentative date of November 7th -- I can't wait!!
