Need A Fill And Encoragement!
Had my surgery July 26th relize band with no restriction, doctor will not do a fill for at least 3 weeks. I have an appt Mon and I'm really hoping he will do it then. I have lost 14lbs since my pre diet but now thanks to myfitnesspal I realize my calories are going up everyday. Yesterday I barely went over 1000 which was the most so far it scares me, I don't want to gain more. My total goal is 95 lbs but I would love to be down at least 50 by Christmas. What do you think am I being realistic?

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
Yes I have the two larger incisions seem to be taking forever to heal and they are both red and sore. Around the incisions my skin is very dry and itches to the point it feels like fireants however I did have an allergic reaction to the bandages. It seems to be getting better slowly.

I also seem to be stuck got to 14pds and that's it but I have no restriction in the band. I am being very careful about what I eat, don't think I'm getting enough water and still not really exercising. I still have quit a bit of pain in my side. My fitness pal says I'm not eathing enough everyday but I feel I am pluse I am taking vitamins.

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
Yep could be, I had that also the dr said the anesthesia causes it so I used laxatives and started drinking more Water. I'm still not drinking enough or even as much as I was pre op, have to make myself drink anything. Two weeks out and my allergic reaction is beginning to heal (; there are still some bad places where my skin was torn due to it but it is getting better. Now the most pain I have is in my back which I've had that for years and around the two main incisions the port and where they put in the band itself. Those places are sore and I can see them clearly under my skin. Please someone tell me the soreness gets better! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We have had a very roof two weeks, hoping August will get better fast!

As we say here is the South, Bless your heart. I hate that you are still feeling so bad. Ask your doctor if you can have sherbert or frozen yogurt, it was on my liquid diet. Maybe it will help. I would say drink some giner ale but the carbonation would not be good. Ginger is suppose to help relieve nausea so maybe there is something else. Hope you feel better very soon!

Concern And Doubt
My doctor's assistant told me a story about a man who has the band but drank milk shakes everyday then complained because he was not losing. Now I don't really think this was the dr office fault because they have told me time and time again it's not a magic bullet it's a tool to help you. You have to put the work in. I'm learning this as I go but once you get in that mind set it will work. Just don't do what that man did!

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
I had mine 7/26 lost 9 lbs during the pre diet and only have lost 4 more so I think it's about normal. I can also eat just about anything but my doctor did not put resistance in the band and will not until hopefully the 20th. I get very hungry but am really being what I consider very good. It's hard because other than walking I have not been released to exercise. Don't get to frustrated from what I've read this seems to be normal. Hang in there. I went to the dr. on the 6th to have my staples removed and he seemed happy with my progress so that was something to make me feel better! Can See Port Under Skin
Over my belly button a little to the right. I'm very short so it's really under my breast bone too. Not much room there lol. Jr I just now got to where I could find it, my stomach has been so swollen I looked pregnant for a while, still some swelling but most of it's gone. Other than having an allergic reactiion to the bandages and being broke out & itchy I feel pretty good.

Can See Port Under Skin
Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since my surgery, I have lost 13 pounds so far since the pre diet most of which I lost during that time. Have no resistance in band yet, my dr waits at least 3 weeks to a month post surgery. My question is I can see the port and feel it under my skin especially when I'm laying down, is this the norm?

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
When did you have your surgery, I was nauseated a lot for the 1st week but now I'm fine. I also stopped taking my pain meds because that seem to make me even sicker. I hope you feel better soon, hang in there, it does get better!

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
Went to the dr. today and got the staples removed, so glad they are out! Still no fill my dr wants to wait two weeks but I did lose 2 more pounds, not alot but right now doing it without a fill is hard and I'm pretty proud of myself. It's been a very hard week for my family, my son in law is having some major health problems and it's turned life upside down but we are getting through it all together. Talk about together my other daughter has been home for over a week now then my sil, daughter and granddaughter have been here almost non stop, gosh I'm beat!!! Tomorrow back to work, hopefully I will do better there than I did last week! How is everyone else doing??? Down 12 pounds (would like more but take it and be happy) and on my way to a new me.

Day One Of The Pre-Op Diet
I'm a week post op and the pre diet was difficult, some days more than others but just keep in mind why your doing this and hang in there. If I can do it everyone should be able to. I've never had much self discipline.

I'm Going To Disney World!
Last year my family went to Disney World during the Christmas season and had a great time. Since my granddaughter will be 4 soon and can not go once she start 5 year old school my husband, daughter, son in law and his parents have decided to go this year also. I am hoping I can loose enough weight between now and then to go and not get so tired like last year. I'm really excited about the trip and hope I feel so much better. This is me & Mickey 11/2011

I'm Banded!!!!!
That's great that you are doing so well!! I was banded on the 26th, it's weird but I had more back pain than anything now I just have soreness around the incisions and am allergic to the bandage tape so that's a problem but all in all I would say compaired to living life overweight from now on this is worth it!!! Hope everyone continues to do well!!

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
Yep he said the first few days I should do soft but after could have whatever I felt comfortable with. I had grilled fish Mon night, 1st real food in two weeks and it was amazing. I did fine no problem at all. I think the hardest thing for me as far as eat/drink my doctor really does not want me to use low cal sweetners like sweet & low, spenda etc. I use crystal light a lot and was addicted to diet dr. pepper which of course is a no no so now I'm trying to find something to drink in my water so far it looks like it's going to be lime, but I do miss the sweet.

July Bandsters....lets Here You....
Well it's been 4 days since my surgery. I can eat pretty much anything because I have just the band no "fill" yet. My doctor has not put me on any restrictions but I have done that myself. The 1st few days I just didn't want to eat but now feel like I could eat the house! Having to take control of myself. Most of the soreness is gone but I itch terribly plus every bandage I have tried seems to break me out making it worse . I went on a short shopping trip with my girls today and did really well, I still have some major blooting so finding something to wear loose and comfortable is a challenge. My daughter told me I needed a better bra then she realized I was wearing one that is really to big just because all the others are very uncomfortable. Hope you all are doing well!!
