  2. Welcome to the "losing side" !!! I'm so glas you are doing well !!! Congratulations! Audrey
  3. Good luck with your first fill!!! I did feel a restriction with my first fill - but it subsided a little... that's why mostly we need more than one fill to reach our "sweet spot"(right restriction for you). This can be the hardest time for us bandsters... the time between op & sweet spot is a massive learning curve... It took me 4 fills to reach my "sweet spot" - some never need a fill - other's like me need a few. but once it's hit - there'll be no stopping you! Take a deep breath... this is a long road.... it's a marathon.. not a sprint... I felt like you do now too.... it's hard.... I had no pain at all with any of my fills.... it was over in a few minutes... (I was almost dissapointed lol). All the best for tomorrow ! Audrey
  4. Hi there I don't know about beer.... but I was certainly told NOT to drink ANY carbonated drinks.... The fizz can dilate your pouch & may cause you problems with slippage etc.. When I want to have a drink (my tipple is Whiskey & "diet" Coke) I let the diet coke go flat before drink it... That suit me fine.. BUT, one of my friends who drinks Vodka & Coke has problems with flat coke too... mostly the following day when her band seems tighter... almost to the point of closing.... She doesn't drink that anymore... she's found an alternative. ! lol To be honest mate, Weight loss surgery is just a tool to aid you in your weight loss goals... it's not an easy option.... I wish it were ! It can be hard work sometimes... BUT If you use your band to YOUR advantage, theres no reason why it won't work for you! I hope this helps a little Audrey
  5. Your looking great !!! Keep up the great work! Aud x

  11. OH MY GOODNESS !!! What a massive difference such a small amount of fill can make ! I went to see Mr G this morning & he took out 1/4 ml.. no problems 1st time... GREAT ! What a relief! the "pressure" from my chest has almost instantly dissapeared ! My fluids are going down MUCH easier! yesterday for lunch I struggled to keep down 2 crackers & spreading cheese... it sat in my chest all day... nothing too bad... but you know what I mean. this lunchtime i've had 6.... no pain - no bagged up feeling... they've actually gone down! YEAY !!! i'm so relieved! I've actually had the same amount for my dinner as I had last night... BUT ! the difference tonight is... I don't want to puke everywhere tonight! lol & I will likely be able to fit more in.... I will wait till later tho... see how I go.. (maybe take a wee spoonfull of Chris's macaroni n cheese lol ) mmmmmmm. Can believe the difference in such a small amount! I've now got 3.75ml in my "LapBand" it has a capacity of 7ml. I also went to Braehead in Glasgow & have lost another 4 pounds..... YEAY !
  12. Hiya JoJo Glad you are fighting fit after your op! Hope you enjoy the site as much as I do! Audrey x
  13. Hiya Bobby I've been going to the gym for a while now & haven't had any problems at all. If you have any concerns... I would give my surgeon a call or an e-mail? He would be able to answer your questions... Sorry that's not much help! Audrey x
  14. All the very best with your op!! Thinking of you ! Audrey x
  15. Hi there Flying doesn't seem to make any difference to the band or the restriction. (as far as I know) A friend of mine flies all over the place with her job & doesn't feel the slightest bit of difference. - she has the SAGB, (Swedish band.) And another lady who has the same band as me (Lapband) never has any problems either. As far as the hunger goes... are you drinking enough? I know that when I upped my Fluid intake it seemed to stem it a little... I also gurgle lol.... I know what you mean about being embarrasing ! lol - havent found a cure for that yet !lol hope this helps a wee bit! Audrey x
