  1. Anyone know what the qualifications are for this surgery to be covered by healthcare? How about any drs who do this privately? Thanks
  2. Looking great! Must feel so good
  3. Have I posted this in the wrong forum? Or are there no Albertans?
  4. Does anyone know of surgeon in Alberta that does the sleeve surgery funded privately as opposed through healthcare. I am asking for a friend who doesn't want to go out of country (like I did) and doesn't qualify for it to be covered by healthcare here (BMI is not 40). Thanks for any help
  5. What an amazing transformation for the both of you! You look absolutely amazing and should be so proud of yourselves A lot of pain but it looks so good! I do hope that will be me someday, just saying.
  6. Added you. I'm also looking for fellow sleevies. Add me. SummersGirl. Thanks
  7. Ditto on the experience. And I had a friend recommend it!!! WTF?! Just horrendous. The nurses in the recovery house were the best part, but I don't believe they use it anymore. Don't go to that clinic!
  8. Is it accurate? Some say the bodybugg is more accurate. How does it calculate calories burned? Thanks
  9. That is an amazing picture! You don't even look like the same person, people must've been questioning the authenticity of your security tag, lol. Great job!
  10. Nadoue! Wow! That is an incredible transformation! You look GREAT
  11. That is such good news! I am so happy for you
  12. I've been thinking about this too. Hope all is well!
  13. My plastic surgeon in Canada who is doing my breast reduction, breast lift, and lipo (in that area) would also do an all around the body tummy tuck/butt lift at the same time if I wanted (and was loaded with cash) but he said they would not do lipo on the thighs at that time as it was too much. He's a great surgeon an we have great healthcare, so I don't think there's anything wrong with getting procedures done simultaneously. I'm only doing the boobs as it covered by healthcare and paying $1500 for the lipo. I'd consider going to Mexico for the tummy. If being scared of something means that you shouldn't do it, I would not have had the sleeve. I am so glad I fought my fear and had it done anyway. If this is coming off as argumentative or rude, I don't mean it to. I just think its up to the surgeons, what they feel they can do and what they think is safe. I have a friend who had implants, arm lift, timmy tuck with muscle repair, and lipo all at the same time and after the first 5 days of pain, she was fine and super happy I have another friend who is doing a similar surgery in about a week so I'll have to see how she does. Everyone is different and every surgeon is different.
  14. High/Surgery Weight: 227 (July 3, 2012) Jan 1: 174 Jan 8: 170.8 Valentine goal: 162 End goal: 137 Height: 5'2" After a 2 pound loss in December, I was down 3.2 the first week of January! Yay
  15. Just realized that you have lost 50% of your body. Amazing!!!!!!! Any pics?
  16. Congrats! What a great accomplishment! You must be feeling and looking fabulous I live just north of Red Deer and I had my surgery on July 3, 2012 in Mexico. Had I known there was somewhere to get it done here in 6 months, I would have chosen that. My BMI was just shy of 40. I started at 227 and am now at 171. My goal is another 34 pounds and then I am at the top of the normal range for BMI. I want to reach this by May 22 as that is my next appointment date with the plastic surgeon to discuss my surgery date for a breast reduction. That's basically 2 pounds a week and I don't think its realistic. I lose slow, 1.5 a week on average. Maybe I'll have to reschedule Anyway, nice to meet some fellow Albertans
  17. Amazing! What an accomplishment! And you're looking fabulous
  18. I have lost 55 lbs and gone from a 38I to a full 36H, so barely any change. I have another 35 to lose and I sure hope some of that is in the boobs! I had giant boobs even when I was skinny and in jr high. so I shouldn't be surprised. It's genetic. I have a consult appt this month for a reduction I hope to get in August. I am soooo looking forward to it!
