  1. Hoping to be Dec too, doing my 6 months and until I get done & submit I Wong know. That's between semesters though, so that's the hope!
  2. I love how this post has become a complete mockery. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. Like I was today when I ate 120 breadsticks at olive garden. I'm pretending it never happened.
  3. I have lots of numbers. 100 pounds to lose. 28 years old. 10 when my dad died of heart problems. 22 years left before I have a heart attack like the other ladies in my family. 2 months left of pre op diet! Not wanting to be a number is a ridiculous reason to leave this site.
  4. I've been wondering this too. Hoping that getting sleeved between semesters leaves me enough time to heal, but if something happens and I can't do it until later, then ill have to wait until summer because I can't do it in the middle of a semester. I'm guessing it'll be harder to go back to school then work because you have to actually retain this info!
  5. Here* thanks smart phone.
  6. Anyone ever seen a post on Herr from some who actually died from this? Seen a few icu stories & scary ones like iggy's, but never one saying something like "oh my friend/ mom/ wife etc just had it & died." Just curious.
  7. So sorry you are going through this, & praying that it heals itself & you can get on with life soon!
  8. It's funny to see people talk about this, I am always always hot and I love sweaters and stuff so I can't wait for this to be me!
  9. Moelizg I am in my 6 month diet with Dr cottam right now! Hopefully ill be sleeved in December between semesters... It should be Jan at the latest though. Were you happy with Dr Cottam? How is he on surgery day calming you down and stuff? I am super nervous. Also I am curious, when did they collect your coinsurance, was it before hand or did they bill you? Glad to see all you fellow utahns are doing well and rocking those sleeves, Congrats on your weight loss!
  10. Ooo Sept 10th is so close! That's awesome! I have heard so many great things about Dr. Ortiz, I'm sure you'll have a great experience. What do you do ay the u? I've worked there on and off since I was about 18 and started in the er as an Emt. I am nervous too, but I feel like I have a great surgeon and its something I've got to do.
  11. Goof to know tina thanks so much! I am glad it went well for you, keep me updated on your progress!
  12. Dr. Volckmann just started doing the sleeve, he has only done 2. I had my consultation with cottam and he was great. Dr. Volckmann was nice, just too inexperienced for me to feel ok with. When is your surgery in Mexico altagirl?
  13. Peace queen I can't believe it! And you are always so positive and helpful to us new folks, and I am just so sorry you are having problems! I hope ot goes smoothly and you can continue on a better journey than you have had!
  14. Thanks so much every one for your input it really gives me some more insights and is helping me make my decision.
  15. So I need help decideing between 2 surgeons. Surgeon 1... Not on network so I pay 15% of cost. Ki out of pocket is 1500 so it won't be more than that. I could see him wed and get all of my preop stuff done at one including psychologist. Very experienced, was a sleeve pioneer, low complication and high success rates, single incision. No egd required with him. Very successful and well known. Also at a center of excellence. Surgeon 2... Went to great schools did lots of sleeves on fellowship but have only done a few in his new practice. He is on network and operates at my hospital of choice. Easy access to all of my records from my pcp as they are in same hospital. Would have to do egd and psychology visit separate. Hospital stay covered 100% So would you go with the more experienced surgeon who requires less preop stuff but works for a hospital I don't like, or a less experienced one that works for a hospital I love and go to for all my care? I am afraid if I choose the more experienced one that I will have a complication and be admitted and it won't be to my hospital. At least if I fp.with Tue least experienced surgeon I will be admitted to my hospital and have 100% coverage. What would you do?
  16. Hi tina! I have a new patient appointment with him on the 25 th but I am sort of going back & forth trying to decide between him & another doctor. What has your experience with him been? Do you like him? He is way more experienced than my other choice, but my other choice is in network. Can you tell me what you did on your consultation appointment? Thank you ap much for responding!
  17. Cj thanks so much for sharing your story. I have never, in all my 13 surgeries, had one that didn't make me incredibly sick so I am NOT looking forward to the first 2 days preop, but glad to know thy others got through it and I will too!
  18. Wondering this too! My Lo is 15 mos... Will be 19 when I am sleeved & i still have to get him from his crib & stuff, so I don't have the option of not lifting weight & that worries me.
