  1. Congratulations. How exciting.
  2. Could it be your port? Mine is on the left side & I find if I sit a certain way it is uncomfortable.
  3. It is so interesting reading these posts. All the different amounts of water or fluids. I was told to drink a minimum of 32 ounces of water. No problem. I like drinking water. Weird.
  4. I had no appetite for about 3 days after I was banded on July 26. I can't wait to get a fill now. It's hard to fight the hunger.
  5. Finally! Someone here that is on the insulin pump. I am a Type I and have been for nearly 18 years. Are you having a problem bolusing for the Protein shakes? It is driving me crazy. I counted all the carbs in my shake. It was 27 grams. I bolused for that amount. After 2 hours, my suagr was close to 400! Through trial and error, I think I need to bolus for abour 90 carbs. I think the extra comes from all of the protein. If you are doing the Protein Shakes, are you having any trouble with bolusing for them? Dana
  6. There has to be a first patient for everyone. You should receive a lot of special individualized care. That's got to be cool.
  7. Welcome to the club. I posted this same quandary a few days ago. Got lots of great advice. I've been drinking my last Protein shake right before bed. Not waking up hungry in the middle of the night. Now if I could figure out the carbohydrate puzzle for Protein shakes & the fits they give my blood sugar. I'm on an insulin pump & I'm pretty much on my own with programming for protein shakes on it.
  8. Congratulations. You'll do great.
  9. Thank you all for the information. I will fill up on protein.
  10. I was banded 1 week ago. I'm on the mushy food phase. My problem is that I do like my doctor says and eat until I am full. I go to bed at night and I am jolted awake 2-3 hours after going to be by a growling stomach. I cannot go back to sleep unless I eat something. I know this is not good. I try to eat fat free pudding or applesauce. Don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I cannot keep eating in the middle of the night!
  11. Banded on the 26th, too. I had that feeling of bloating the first few days. It is gone & now I'm hungry. I talked to the nurse at my doctor's office during those first few days. Told her I was having a hard time getting in a second shake. She suggested getting Protein shots from GNC or Walmart. They were much easier to get down than another shake. I started getting rid of the bloating when I went walking. It's been around 110 degrees here, so I get my daughter to drive me to the mall to get in my walking there. I like fantasizing now about which of those cute clothes I'm going to buy when I get skinny. Lol!
  12. Great job. I know you are happy.
  13. Glad to know it's not just me.
  14. I was able to drink more than the required amount of Water before I got banded on 7/26. After being banded, I struggle getting my required amount of water each day. It's very frustrating. I hope this will go away soon. I like drinking my water. Anyone else had this happen?
  15. Thanks for the information. I knew it would go away, just glad I have an idea of when it will go away.
  16. I was banded 5 days ago. The top part of my stomach seems to be swollen. I have heard from another bandster that had this happen. I would like to know when the swelling will go away.
  17. There is also gastric plication which is reversible.
  18. I get banded tomorrow. I have taken Omeparazole for years. First by prescription & now get it OTC at Costco. I can't live without it. I take one every morning & so does my husband. Keeps the heartburn & reflux from ever happening.
  19. Well, surgery is tomorrow morning. Finally! Have been on the Pre-op diet for 5 days & have lost a pound per day. Trying to get everything together. Got loose clothes, GasX strips, pillow, checkbook, Chapstick, sugar free Life Savers & the book I'm reading to take to hospital. I have a heating pad, ice packs, liquid Tylenol & lots of pillows waiting at home. Is there anything important I'm missing? Dana
  20. Congratulations. Awesome results!
  21. That is amazing. I hope to be able to cut down that much. I am stoked about the prospect.
  22. Getting banded on July 26 in Decatur. My surgeon is Dr. Robert Snow. I meet him on Monday. I live in Benbrook (SW Fort Worth). Getting nervous.
  23. I will have my first visit with my surgeon Monday. His office emailed instructions for Pre-op diet that I need to start 5 days before surgery. I'm required to have 2 Protein Shakes per day. Is ther a minimum or maximum amount of Protein that I should make sure I follow for each shake? Thanks Dana
