    Stuck on egg?

A few wks ago, I was was stuck on hot dog skin. and I felt miserable. I was hours away from home on a camping trip. When I spoke with my surgeon, he suggested that I take 1 table spoon of cooking oil and follow it with sips of hot tea. After doing this, I immediately felt better. Like in 2 minutes. My Dr had said, if I didnt feel better I should come to the hospital, but I felt better. The cooking oil was very nasty, but I followed the instructions and felt better. Hope this helps.

Oh My Stars, I Can't Eat Anything!!!

Hey everyone, I had my band for four months now and have been doing very well on my journey. Last tuesday I had my 3rd fill. Since then, I have not been able to eat anything! Cold and hot liquids don't bother me much,,,, as long as I'm drinking ssssslllllllooooooowwwwwww. But if I try to eat mushy foods, after the first 1/2 teaspoon, I feel stuck. Stuck, stuck, stuck. And it takes at least an hour to feel ok again. I'm having hiccups and pb,,, if pb's are that mucus stuff that comes up when I feel stuck. Anyhow,,, should I have my surgeon take some liquids out or should I grin and bare it. I actually don't feel hungry, I think I'm head hungry. My last question is,,,, is my understanding of pb correct?

    Fellow Bandsters!!!! Please Help

Had my first fill yesterday and now I am back on liquids. The liquid diet doesn’t really bother me because I know that it will help me achieve my goal. The Dr. put me on a 3 day liquid diet, then soft, then regular. I have read people going on a 1 day and even 2 day liquid diet, but not a 3 day after a fill. Is my Dr. exaggerating this diet by extending it another day or two? Or is this the regular post fill diet? Also, at this time, I am not hungry and have been satisfied with my liquids. My concern is…. Will I be hungry on liquids for 3 days? Although I am not hungry, I don’t feel full. Is that normal? My last question is…. How can I tell if I am over filled or under filled? Right now, everything feels a bit “normal”, but I have to assume that it is because I am only drinking liquids, but I can still drink at least a 16oz cup of water within 45 mins. Am I able to drink too much? The last, last, last question: Am I over thinking this too much? UGH… I feel so confused

Thank you so much for your response. It really tickled me and I really needed a laugh yesterday because I was starting to feel down. I am back to my excited self about my band and looking forward to this journey (again). J . Thank you again, for the information, support and tickle.

    Fellow Bandsters!!!! Please Help

Thank you for your response. Yes, they gave me information, but of course, once you leave… everything leaves the brain and goes out the window. And I have a question about the gym… because I go “hard” in the gym, elliptical machine/ 70 mins/ over 700 cals burned/ 4 miles (every time)! But……….. last night I went to the gym and when I was on the elliptical machine, my heart started palpitating to the point that I felt it would be safe to get off and use the treadmill. And I could only do the treadmill at 2.5 without palpitations. (L) I figured that because I was only taking in cals from liquids and my cals was low, my heart was saying NO WAY!!! Am I right?

Thank you for your insight. I spoke with the nutritionist today and she said that I only have to stay on the liquids yesterday and today.

    Fellow Bandsters!!!! Please Help

Thank you Jim, I have a 10cc band ad I now have 4.9cc's in my band. On the liquid diet, pre and post op, I did very well. Post op, I was to scared to eat anything and pre op, I only did liquids the day before surgery. It didn’t seem to bad. My next question is... should I drink the liquids as if I am having breakfast, lunch and dinner or should I drink continuously throughout the day?

I Feel Like I'm Starving!!! Help Fellow Bansters

Thank u guys for all of the advise and support. I have worked hard at getting more protein in and used a few of the recipes as suggested and it has helped a lil. I'm glad that I am not gaining any pounds but this is a journey in itself, refraining from food while hungry. But I knew I was going to have challenges and I'm moving forward as positively as possible. 12 days till my first fill. I will make it!!!!!!!
  14. I am starving… or at least I feel like I am. I am weighing my food as instructed by the nutritionist and after I eat, I still feel hungry! Although I refrain from putting any additional food in my mouth, I feel like I can eat more but I don’t. Are there any foods that will make me feel fuller, longer?

I Feel Like I'm Starving!!! Help Fellow Bansters

I am on soft foods at this time. But I am still unsure how much of this and that I am suppose to eat. So, Ive been sticking to the 4 oz rule. Does anyone have any chicken ideas because the "big girl" in me only knows how to cook fried chicken breast. And I have proudly steared away from fried chicken since the surgery. Or maybe a sample diet that I can follow? Thanks for the advice and support

I think it is head hunger. Thanks for the advice. I am going to increase the protein intake. And I have tried to drink the water when I feel hungry and find that it makes my belly hurt MORE when I'm truely hungry and I have to wait 1/2 hour to eat. (ugggg) But I will keep trying. Thanks again for the advice.

    On My Way!

Hello Everyone, I am 38 years old and always struggled with my weight. I have 3 lovely daughters and 1 son that I am in the process of adopting. I have always been self conscience about my weight, even when I was at an “ideal” weight. Once I began having children, I packed on the pounds. I have tried so many things, as well as exercise and dieting and most of the things that I have tried have been a temporary fix, usually resulting in me gaining all of the weight back plus some! My highest weight was 301 in Dec. 2011. I was so disappointed and scared that I decided to do something about it by getting banded. In 2009, I began the process of becoming banded but puncked out once I learned I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure. In all reality, my weight was about 280 in 2009 and should have continued with my banding. But no need to cry over spilled milk. On May 29, 2012, I was banded and have successfully loss 21 pounds. I feel very empowered, energetic and refreshed since the surgery! I see the difference in my face and I feel fantastic! I have such a supportive family and I want to give them the thanks that they deserve. Since the surgery, they have been walking the track across the street from my house with me. Since the surgery, I have been walking at least 2 miles per day with out back pain! Also, I no longer have to sleep with my apnea machine! This is feeling really good. Thanks for reading my story Sara
  21. Feeling really good about my LapBand Choice!

  22. Hi, I was banded on the 29th as well. I hope I am not doing the wrong things also. I am nervous about my protein intake because they all taste a bit crappy to me, but I feel like I am doing my best. I meet with the nutritionists on Friday, and boy...do I have a lot of questions for her.! I noticed today, that I can drink more water at a time then I once was able to a few days ago. Oh, Boy, am I nervous! Good luck on your journey! and I cant wait to hear from you.
