  1. I would call and find out the exact requirements. Usually obstructive sleep apnea is recognized as a co-morb.
  2. My UHC plan is 35-39 bmi with one documented co-morbidity or a 40+ bmi with no co-morbities. Good luck in the process...I hope UHC is good with not throwing out too many hoops =\
  3. Oh yes...I've seen it take people 6+ months, so yours was fast! I'm hoping I can get everything done in two months, but my surgeon seems to require more than UHC does. Did you have to do a sleep study or a stress test
  4. How come so fast? Wow. That's awesome!
  5. This question is for anyone with UHC (whatever plan)...how long did your whole process take from start to finish? Did your UHC plan require 6 month weigh ins? Ty
  6. ahhh saw the post that says "ignore" after commenting here. Hopefully this thread will be deleted...lol
  7. is that a joke or is this serious? lol. I'm not going to lie and couldn't help but laugh when I read this. If this is the case, usually when we give up something important to us (like food) we usually substitute it with something else that provides somewhat of the same consolation to us. It's perfectly fine, whatever it is, up until it begins to interfere with every day life, etc.
  8. Fallenangel...what type of insurance do you have ? It'd be nice to get to avoid those 6 months of weighing in! Lol. I hope that happens for me...but at this point, I'm just waiting to get started!
  9. You're a real jackass LUH...come home...I'm bored.
  10. Congrats on your journey and I'll be sending get well wishes your way! Here's to speedy recovery! Keep us all updated
  11. What are you going to school for? I know how you feel but what you just said is so inspirational. When do you hope do get the surgery?
  12. Hi guys! I'm not too far from you guys...I'm in Nassau County on Long Island. I'm only starting out and have the seminar this Thursday. What insurance do you both have?? I'm excited to have met other NYers
  13. Ah, I know what you mean about constantly thinking about the surgery! Good luck to you!
  14. You should be fine as long as your BPD is stabilized with either meds or therapy. I think any type of mental illness can increase in severity after this surgery if not kept in check before and after. Since you are self-pay, I don't think you should have too much of a problem. Good luck
  15. Hi! Welcome As far as what I've been told, when you go to your required informational seminar, you can then make an initial appt with your surgeon.
  16. Mental issues in terms of what diagnosis? If you elaborate more, I can help
  17. Good to see some men getting sleeved as well!
  18. ...and perhaps one of the most important requirements for surgery.
  19. Thank you all for your help I'll jump through the necessary hoops insurance may throw...anything worth having is worth working hard over!
