crowell823 got a reaction from Prissy in 4 Days Post Op And Still Cannot Lay On My Side. :(
For the first two weeks i couldnt even lay on my back...the pain kept me from being able to get into that laying position plus i got really sick when i layed down flat. I slept in the recliner for two weeks then was able to sleep on the couch which i was able to still be in an inclined postion. i was able to sleep on my side but the cushions supported my stomach so that it didnt hurt like just laying flat on my side. I am now at 26 days able to sleep on my sides and my stomach. The right side still hurts some when i lay on it...everyone is different and it will get better one day...it seemed to me that it would never feel any better eventhough i knew that was silly....good luck and just take it one day at a time

Oh yes! Sleeping on my back makes my lower back hurt really bad! It was a week post op before I could comfortably sleep on my sides. As far as the headache, I had a super duper horrible headache in hospital (I think due to the morphine) and convinced a nurse to give me liquid Tylenol with codeine (before my barium swallow). Whew! I am prone to headaches and I have had not a one since returning from hospital. I think it is all the liquids! I used to NEVER drink Water. I am now a believer as headaches are my greatest fear! Good luck!

I am 21 days post op today and I am stalled for one week....I have been eaing very little and drinking my 70-80grams of protien daily. I also walk for one hour on a treadmill daily. What gives? After reading some of your posts, I feel a bit better but being stalled after only losing 18lbs is a little disheartening.

I have not seen one piece of data that shows somebody is dead from eating puréed food at 10 days instead of 14.

My diet guide has 2 weeks full liquids...and 3-5 weeks mushy/puree...so that sounds like to me starting at 14 days...just going to give it some more time i guess. not really having an issue with the liquids. Or maybe just add a soft food every couple days...thanks for your input and good luck with your surgery!

Hi, I could only have the Plication because I have MS and Parkinson's. All WLS are tools in our quest to lose weight and get healthy. You can fail with any of the surgeries if you don't stick with the plan and tweak it once and awhile, SUPPORT goes a long way to. We still have lssues that we need to work on to help with our goals. Keep posting reading and supporting each other. Looking forward to my goals. Tx Michelle

My DH actually told me that if I'd just eat less I wouldn't need this expensive surgery. So, I got him a quote from a funeral home for a full funeral. My medical expenses last year, just in co-pays and out of pocket for docs, were as much as the surgery. Now that I'm down 81 pounds, he's my biggest cheerleader. He's still a jerk and I'm still not living with him, but he's bragging about my weight loss to anyone that will listen, and some that won't, I'm sure! LOL
