  1. I am Polish and my husband is Mexican, Polish+Mexican=Polican We call our kids little Policans or Mexilocks
  2. I was sleeved on 7/24/12 and I lost about 30 lbs. then stalled. It lasted almost 2 weeks, then it broke yesterday.
  3. I have the opposite situation. I used to drink a decent amount of water before my surgery but now, it's all I want. I actually crave water all day long. I would rather drink water than eat, that's crazy isn't it?
  4. Thanks ladies for the feedback, I just wanted to see if I was behind or something, lol.
  5. I'm 2 1/2 out of surgery and I was just wondering what everyone else has lost on average? I feel like I'm not where I should be which makes me very upset... PS--I've lost 28 pounds since July 11 (when I started my pre-op diet).
  6. I have tried some soft foods myself and tolerated them well :-)
  7. I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and I've already resumed my normal activities (laundry, cooking, cleaning,) and lifting my kids (4 & 5 yrs old). Everyone is different, so just go at your own pace.
  8. My doctor told me either water or skim milk. the milk will give you more protein. I wouldn't try the banana just yet, ask your doctor first.
  9. I eat hummus, applesauce, and baby food (check the sugars though).
  10. Sex

My husband and I waited exactly 1 week, though I was ready after 4 days post-op. My husband was the one who wanted to make sure everything was okay but I kinda pounced on him an that went out the window, lol...
  11. I was sleeved on July 24 and I only used the pain meds in the hospital one time to try to get some rest. I was up walking and sitting upright in my bed a few hours after my surgery. I would have to rate my pain as like a 2 or 3.
  12. I had surgery this past Tuesday and still haven't had one, but I don't feel bound up or anything.
  13. I was sleeved on 7-24-12 and I didn't have pain from the surgery, but from the gas as well. I was told to walk a lot to get rid of it, it didn't really help me. You can try Beano or Gas X-strips. It took about 3 days for the gas to start letting out, now I feel fine. Good luck and just be patient, it will go away.
  14. I thank you all for your answers, I really appreciate them...
  15. I was sleeved on 7-24-12 and I'm not using any of the pain meds (or any other meds), just wondering why I can't drive yet. Any suggestions???
  16. I wasn't going to tell anyone (except my husband-obviously) but that didn't last very long. I figured oh hell with it, the more who know the more support I'll get. If people don't like it, they can kiss my fat (soon to be smaller) butt, lol.
  17. They make shampoo that washes in haircolor and fades after a few washes with normal shampoo. That way you get color when you need it and you don't have to worry about doing any damage to your hair. They also make mousse that puts a tint in your hair.
  18. I use Mirena, I have had used it for the last 4 years. No weight gain, no bloating, no mood swings, and the best---no period.
  19. I am on day 3 of my 2-week diet and I am quite shocked at how well I am doing. I thought it was gonna be a lot harder but I haven't had anything but protein shakes and broth. Everyone is different so don't get discouraged.
  20. Thank you to everyone who posted on this topic. I have surgery in 18 days and already have my bag packed with everything I should need. Really appreciate the input.
  21. I was just wondering if anyone loaded up on certain items before the surgery. Please share whatever you think will be helpful, I have a month to stock up. I really appreciate any input.
  22. Congrats on starting school
  23. I went to the Salvation Army, Walmart, and I looked on Craigslist. I didn't want to pay $30 for a shirt or pants from other stores.
  24. It's easier than you think. I was freaking a little when I saw the course books, but I used a few of the books for a couple of classes. You got this :-)
