how does a leak occur
I survived my leak. I had two metal esophageal stents. They went all the down my stomach. They were hell and no food. I was also on several very strong antibiotics prescribed by an infectious disease dr. A lot of time and leaks heal!!!

Thank you!! I sincerely apologize for not updating. I feel miserable this happened!! I am a lot better. it's very nice. I hope all is clear and that nothing is found. I am sure all is okay. I think my stomach has been through a lot and I may just still be feeling it. Wishing you Wellness, Sannah- Leak?
I also wanted to say that I am generally doing better! :-) I can manage MUCH better since I am able to receive nutrition!! How are you all doing?- Leak?
Hello All!! I am very sorry that you have awaited a post. I never received regular message alerting me. Matter of fact I sign in periodically and under "participated" nothing Is showing as new. Odd. So sorry. A gal alerted me on Facebook today. I feel miserable. I never intentionally meant to leave you hanging. Please accept my apology! So sorry!! I am alive and still working on eating. Somedays I can eat with no troubles and others one bite and I am sick. I generally have no desire for food. Good news is I have not been taking 24-48 hour breaks from food and water. I have to take medication twice a day to eat, otherwise consuming is not an option. Some days the medicine works and others it doesn't. Stones are still tumbling around. They are very very painful. I am determined to ride these out alone. I will seek medical intervention if needed, so far I am managing. I no longer strain as my stones are large enough to see. I am still struggling with vomiting. It slowed down for a while, but has started back up again. This has had consequences of its own. I had my vitamin levels checked and my b is non existent. I am having neurological problems from this. I am struggling to get and keep the vit b pills down. So Friday I get a Vit B in an IV. This loss is from vomiting. This Friday I am having am endoscope to look at my sleeve and make sure all is well. Hopefully all is normal. Sounds like the dr believes I have gastritis and she says this would most likely last a year. So I am about half way done with living in crazy town!!! Today is five months post op for me. It feels like a long time!! I have gotten rid of 80lbs Size 26 to a 16 I move more freely I workout regularly I have been stalled for two months. I love you all!! Thanks for following me!! I will check back soon and not rely on what Vst is telling me. Hugs & Loves!! Sannah- Requesting invite to private support grouo forums?
I had to ask a group to add me. My group is based in surgery date. So if you find a group message them. I am sure they will welcome you!!- anyone's family waiting for them to fail?
Of course she see's all the complications, since success stories don't generally come back for more care. Bummer that she is acting this way. You rock your sleeve and let your success speak for itself!!!- Those of you with toddlers...
Hi!! I have a little girl as well. I was told no lifting for 6 weeks as well, but I was told to listen to my body. Surgeon said at 3-4 weeks I could sit on the floor. My no lifting limits lasted way longer than this because I developed a leak. I followed the rules to a T. I was also told no bending. No pushing either, which meant no walks with the stroller. I was hospitalized most of the time. However, I just did what I could with my daughter. I tried to focus on anything and everything I could do with her, rather than what I couldn't do. I sat on the floor with her ASAP and played. I wish I had more to share. I know it's tough!! Hang in here!! Things will get easier. I had to take advantage of all the help!! Best, Sannah- I got a leak - at 4 months post op!

The pain for me wasn't bad at all. I came home an took Advil pills and this was enough to keep me comfortable. The worst part for me was getting out of bed and adjusting position at night. This pain was at the incision sites. I found that the heating pad my best friend, because it helped with incision pain. I rate surgery pain between a three and six( only a six when I moved to get out of bed). I hope this helps out!!- TARGET HATES FAT PEOPLE :p
Haha. I laughed so hard!! Oh the side ache. I get that it's offensive. But sweet rear!!! So funny!! Bad business!!!- Leak
Hi!! Beautiful new photo!! I am hanging in here! way better than before!! I am riding the stones out at home. If I need help I will seek it. Dr said I can have ER surgery if I need to. I am better able to manage the kidney pain since receiving treatment for esophageal spasm. I have. Been eating and keeping food down! it's so amazing!! How are you?? How is everything going? Best, Sannah- Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
Good: My marriage is stronger than ever. I learned my strength. My support system is out of this world! I have lost weight. I have found hidden greatness in everyone. I can move better in my body. I am becoming a better me! Each day of my life is richer. I am leading by example for those around me. Exercising is much easier and enjoyable. Neutral: I eat meat, former vegetarian. I vomit if I consume high sugar. I vomit if I consume high fat. Bad: Leaks suck!! food is disgusting. I don't know what I like or what to eat. Complications of the leak are long and drawn out. My journey has been rough. Esophageal spasm. I feel more disgusted than ever with my body. I can't say if I would do it again. I relish in the greatest that has come from this. I value the changes I have made and am making. But the wounds of complications are still fresh. Everyone says give it a year or two and you'll feel better about this decision. Until then I feel a deep sense of regret, but try to remain focused on all the good. Somedays it's hard to ignore the bad stuff though!! I do go to counseling. I am almost standing strongly on my own two feet again. I read that so many of you would so this again in a heart beat. I hope to join you in this thought process one day!!- December 2012 Sleevers
Sleeved 12/04/2012 Down 75lbs. I have been stuck losing and going the same 4-5lbs for a bit over a month.- Pasta
I have never like pasta. Since surgery my taste changed. I recently bought Barilla Plus, it has 10g of protein. It's pretty good.- no longer morbidly obese
Time to celebrate!! way to go!!- New Whey Liquid Protein 42g
I have used these and liked them. I did have to water them down and only used 1/3-1/2 at a time. I have also put them in yogurt smoothies.- 115 lbs gone! Before & after photos
Amazing job!! You look phenomenal!! Beautiful before and after!!- Leak
Hi, Thank you kindly!! . I am SO much better, but still living with the complications of a leak. I was 11 days post op when my leak was found. Best, Sannah- Leak
I am a leak survivor. The entire ordeal was miserable and 4 months out I am still coping with the complications of a leak. Most importantly I am feeling human again I thought I would quickly write to you because it's very important to me to share information with you and others. Leaks are crazy to endure physically and mentally. My leak presented as a dull back ache located low back. I had one night of rigor and sweats. This important because I was/am in tune with my body. I knew something wasn't right. My best advice is for you to listen to your body (always!). You know your body best!! I went in to the dr and was told there was NO WAY I had a leak I looked TOO HEALTHY!!! But the surgeon did blood work and a ct scan and I had a leak!! I was not notified of my leak. I was walking the hospital floor to kill time while I waited to hear back that I didn't have a leak, when a bed rolled up to take me into surgery for my leak. If I can share anything it's listen to your body and what you feel. Your friends and family love you and want you around! Always better safe than sorry. I am wishing you wellness!! May your journey be smooth and uneventful unlike mine. Best, Sannah- Leak
