Ok I know I have googled this...and ppl encounter this however I don't understand why sometimes I eat something and all is good....then I eat the exact same thing and I can't swallow all I get is this foamy Phlegm. It is especially disturbing when I am out....I just need to know that I am not alone.... I went to my surgeons to get a fill yesterday and told the nurse and she didn't know what I was talking about...it isn't throwing up...I just eat and all of a sudden nothing will go down cause my throat is full of Phlegm. Please tell me I am not alone....and I am normal...I had my surgery on July 9th and I am down 44 lbs....I am not watching what I eat just the amount as my clinic wants me to think of it as a life style change not a diet....and they encourage full fat foods... Help me feel like I am normal .
  2. OMG I am so happy I found this....I have been Sliming for about a week now....one day I can eat no prob....then another day....can't....especially at a wedding or restaurant....it is so embarrassing.... now I wonder if the phlem is due to NOT eating at regular intervals...for instance I get busy I have a Protein shake for Breakfast usually around 11am...(weird hours I keep) then I don't eat lunch...and then dinner at 6pm....hmmm gonna try to eat regular meals to see if this helps
  3. I also had a horrible "stuck" unfortunatly it was at a wedding....I literally had 3 pieces and very small of ravioli and chewed very well....and when I say small my sisters were eating like 5 at a time. Then came the chicken....I had 2 small bites of chicken and 1 bite of potato and I was done....felt like something was sitting on my chest....and had to eventually go back to my room and ended up spitting up everything...no vomit really but I guess a productive burping...after about an hr....from start to finish...it really is a horrible feeling....

  5. I wasn't on liquids b4 surgery on a lowfat high protein and I wasn't allowed any dairy....sucked but I did it cheated on the 2nd last day and I was fine for surgery....
  6. totally sucks...I had the same issue....I am a self pay and we had the money and wasn't going to break our bank account I spoke to my husband about surgery back in March and he dismissed me saying you lost weight before you can do it again (husband is thin and never has been overweight) so I listened to him back in march...however after doing more research I booked and paid for the surgery without telling him in May was banded on July 9th let me just say that it was a rocky road after I booked he told me he was leaving me and we didn't speak for a week or so....however we ended up going to marriage counselling and it helped him understand that I am old enough to make decisions for myself and he has been nothing but supportive but took 6 weeks before surgery for him to come around....I love him more and more each day....
  7. I think one is fine....the "rules" are not to use all the time
  8. Hello I was banded on July 9th and go for my first fill tomorrow....so when I went for post op appt 2 wks ago the nutritionist said these weeks are trial and error weeks...try stuff see what you can and can't eat....I try not to eat more then 1 cup of food at a time....and very very slowly.... I look forward to not feeling hungy with less food....although all eyes on me on Friday I have a wedding to attend however good news I am down 34 lbs and was size 26/28 and dress wearing on Friday is 2X
  9. Hello those are great questions....I was banded on July 9th and get my first fill tomorrow I have a 9cc band...surprising that my surgeon went with the small one. I started my pre op on June 25th and as of today I have lost 34lbs....I lost 19 pre op and alot of weight the first week after being banded as I wasn't eating couldn't keep anything down for 4 days....not even Water....I can eat most everything now....actually went out for dinner last nite and ate prob 1/4 of 10oz of prime rib ate very very slowly nothing is worse then being out in a restaurant and getting stuck believe me happened to me a week ago...was a horrible experience.... 14. Where are you from? Toronto Ontario Canada When is your surgery? had my Surgery July 9th What excites you most about the surgery? Tons of things....being healthy...being thin....buying clothes in any store...and not online or Lane Bryant...wearing Lululemon pants... What scares you the most? That this pain won't go away....
  15. Hello Lori Welcome to the site....I am also new to the site....I have looked at weight loss surgery for years....but I was told I wan't heavy enough for bypass....I thought that was a total joke....I am self pay I was banded on July 9th 2012 so day 4....and I am just starting to feel better.... I have had successes in the past with Weight Watchers and Dr Berstein(Vitamin injections and low fat food) however tradgedy happened on Oct 30th 2010 after I had lost almost 80lbs my daughter was hit by a car and passed away 2 days later....my whole life had ended...I ate and drank for almost 18 months...hitting my highest weight of 275lbs. I also made this decision for ME I have been doing things for everyone my whole life....my parents were divorced when I was 4 so I was always the mom helper... My husband was NOT happy with my decision at first...we went marriage counselling to discuss my reasons....and although he didn't want me to do this....he is being totally supportive.... I am happy with the decsion that I have made...and I have lost 23lbs so far...19 during the pre op diet... good luck with the insurance approval.... Message me anytime... Kelly
