  1. Sorry to hear! I would hope you would be much better this far out! Have you talked to your doctor about this?? As far as soft food recipes, I found alot of good stuff on this site, as well as this other I randomly stumbled on. Ignore the wacky name of the site though lol http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
  2. Don't be too afraid, just tell the doctor your a wimp ( I don't mean that to you personally) and that you don't want to feel ANYTHING! When i was in the hospital they gave me medicine so I wouldn't feel like throwing up, and some serious pain killers. Honestly, all I did was sleep that day , and I felt as if I had tape on my stomach. Not unbearable, just more of a slight discomfort. About the leak test, thats a breeze. You drink a tiny cup of this afwul tasting Fluid. It taste like palmolive. I only know this from growing up with old school parents who often made me eat soap lol. Then you take three x rays from different angles of your chest and your done. The leak test is really nothing to worry about at all!
  3. Still in that much pain? How long have you been sleeved? I couldnt see it from your profile.
  4. I know the feeling pink! I feel so thirsty at times, and sit with a glass of water, only to stare at it for 20 minutes before I can even handle it. I used to eat 10 white castles a shot , now I can't sip on water!
  5. I know what you mean , first day I got home I was worried i wouldn't get enough protein myself. I figured I needed about 3 a day to get the right amount, but I couldnt even finish one. I was sleeved 8/22 just ahead of you and drank one in about 2 hours, no problem.
  6. Good work, the first day I was home I had to keep two buckets near me, for the times when I would chug, and then stop , spit it out, before I swallowed it. I used to chug throw back pepsi, and now I sip on a glass of water like its some kind of expensive wine. LoL.
  7. Not to get too nosey , but has anything you tried not "stayed down" ? Could use a fair warning!
  8. Some people push "bro-tein", others chug down a frost glass of ocean spray sugar free cran peach. If only the Ocean spray marketing people could see this.
  9. Funny you mention that OTR, I did see the ocean spray grape flavored packets. I might go back and pick them up. Im not sure if its a guy thing but when I think of crystal light , I remember the commercials from the 90's with women prancing around in white summer dresses. Almost seems like its for chicks only. Ocean Spray, now thats a mans mix!
  10. I feel the same way, l like I know im thirsty but it takes me hours to drink a cup, and it seems impossible! My friend told me he was told to have a sip every 5 minutes. Maybe that will help because every time I try to drink I gulp, pain and stop for an hour.
  11. Hello all! I had my first trip to the grocery story today. It was the first time I left the house since coming home from the surgery too! It felt so good almost like I was in a movie, kids on bicyles, mailman walking by. I was suprised how easy it was to walk around the grocery store. Very little if anything bothered me, I mean I was looking right at the food and I had almost no desire for anything ,except crossaints of all things. I picked up some tiny cups too, in the baby section. Its pretty amazing how that section now suddenly seems like a valid aisle to go down. I even looked at the baby food too while I was at it. Some of that stuff looked good. How long post op do you guys think it would be ok to try some of that ? TLDR , went to grocery store and didnt feel hungry. Any tips on a sugar free drink ? I hear some of the crystal lights are kind of yucky.
  12. Funny you mentioned this. While I was on my liquid diet, stirring my hot cut of tea, I came up with the brightest idea ever. Why dont they make tiny spoons to stir your tea? A handy name would be a "tea spoon" ?? Oh wait..... is that why they call them that? Hmm.. Nevermind....
  13. Spent my entire life hating tuna fish, and now here I sit, jealous, almost drooling at the thought of you eating tuna fish. LoL. Liquid diet, fml.
  14. Yazun, those hunger pains were the worst on pre op, but im a few days post and I never have hunger pains. In fact I was walking around the grocery store today like a champ, nothing bothered me! And yes from your avatar, you do have a pretty face , from what your friends tell you!
  15. Oouchie! 3 days post, and I have to say that day 6-8 were the hardest on my pre op diet! Now Im fighting to drink cup of water! Its amazing how fast the change happens, but once it happens you will find ourself going from fighting to not, to fighting to drink and water of all things! I just watched my friend eat eggs and bacon, and it didn't even phase me.
  16. LoL you guys. Not sure exactly why but this does make me feel better =)
  17. Hate to double post, but is the childrens flavor more bearable? Bubblegum I am assuming??
  18. As I type this i just took some of the tylenol sore throat which is bout 500. I had the first tablespoon and cringed. I cant believe that I am sitting here still holding the second spoon and just cant find a way to drink just a simple tablespoon. This surgery is crazy! I feel like a prima donna.
  19. Sannah, awesome profile picture. Have you started your pre op because thats when most of the weight came flying off ! Did your doctor pick 20lbs or did you pick that number yourself?
  20. Hey phat diva! Im using syntha 6 the chocolate which when I was on pre op, I had to do a double check on the label. It taste just like quick! I find it a bit too sweet now though, must be my taste changing! As far as a goal weight, I cant really wrap my head around a weight, as it seemed so impposible before. I remember saying my goal was 400lbs, which I almost hit pre op. Then I went to 300, now Im guessing 280. That might be still too high but I guess the notion of me saying 220 or even 250 is so insane!
  21. Traci, where did you find liquid tylenol? I asked at the pharmacy and they told me they dont make it anymore to try tylenol sore throat, which is basically liquid tylenol with that awful sick medicine taste! Taste awful and I think I rather deal with the slight pain then drink that again!
  22. Its crazy how everyone seems to have that one weakness or item they craved, mine was pizza, but more importantly the bread. Owning a bread machine was the worst thing I have ever owned. They really do make u fat!
  23. Dana, and everyone else thanks! I remember not long ago in may when I was the one peeking in on others progress! I have to admit its so comforting seeing the people who got the surgery THEN, moving on to things now. I got giddy when I saw a friend moved on and has sausage links for Breakfast, of all things? LoL.
  24. Hi! I am 3 days out and I have Empire Blue Cross, which I believe is the term for Blue Cross in NY. Anthem does sound alot more patriotic! More important, they paid for everything, minus my nutritionist, go figure!
  25. Hang in there friend! I myself lost it on my 2 week pre op and had 2 slices of pizza. I finished strong the last 6 days. While I haven't seen many people saying they did on this forum , I have met a few people in person saying they did, even some as the day before the surgery!
