  1. Good Luck! My surgery was Wednesday. I may be in pain now but I know it will be worth it.
  2. They put you under for an EGD. Yes you need to take the day off and someone needs to drive you. It's a quick procedure.
  3. Yes, they repaired it yesterday. You can get it from reflux, obesity, or throwing up a lot.
  4. I had my hiatal hernia repaired. I was aware I had one, turns out it was pretty large. It's liquid vicodin. It's some pretty good stuff. If I were you I would also ask for neasua medication. Since in not eating the lining of my stomach gets jnflammed from the meds.
  5. I'm sorry people have had a bad experience with Dr Hollis. Thankfully I have been very very happy. Tim to take a nap pain killers are kicking in!
  6. I was banded yesterday snd the gas pain is awful. I am walking, taking gas x strips and everything but still have some pain. Although it is much better than yesterday.
  7. I was banded yesterday by Dr Hollis through True Results. My advocate was Rachel and she was amazing. I was told what my portion would cost the day of my initial appointment because I requested preapproval through their website before even having a consult. Dr Hollis was wonderful, great bedside manner. Just wish this gas pain would go away now!
  8. I'm getting ready to head out and cannot believe how nervous I am. I'll post an update this evening. Good Luck to all the June 27th bandsters.
  9. I started my preop diet a week early to help with the adjustment. I was on the same diet you mentioned but there were days that I wasn't hungry so I would just drink a shake for dinner. After the first week you adjust, the headaches go away and you don't feel like you're starving anymore.
  10. I had my appointment at the end of May and had a pulmonary function test, EKG, and blood work done. A psych eval and a few weeks later an EGD. My surgery is tomorrow so it took about a month for everything including insurance approval.
  11. My EGD was two weeks ago. I'm not sure what drink you are referring to. I have been on this liquid diet for two weeks but that's it. He wants you to lose 10 lbs before surgery.
  12. I am very excited. I'm not sure how I am going to sleep tonight. I took my "before" photos tonight.
  13. My surgery with Dr Hollis is tomorrow. His surgeries are wednesday and Friday.
  14. Tomorrow is the day! Can't believe it is finally here. I hope everyone that was badned this week is recovering well.
  15. Letty.... I will be banded tomorrow as well. GOOD LUCK! Keep us updated.
  16. I am very antsy! My surgery is Wednesday and it can't get here soon enough. I have lost 10.5 lbs on th epreop diet. I started a week early to allow for any slip-ups I might have in the beginning. After the first 3 days it was easy. I wasn't starving anymore and the headaches went away.
  17. After day 3 it wasn't so bad. Once I got past the headaches I actually wasn't that hungry.
  18. My insurance covers 80, I will pay 20%. my max out of pocket it $1500, so total it will cost me 1360.
  19. Did everyone that went to Dr.Hollis go through True Results? My surgery isn't at SE memorial it's at the out patient center on Main. I think.....
  20. My surgery is the 27th as well! I hope all goes well. Keep us posted.
  21. Thank you! In sure I will be up all night nervous and excited.
  22. I'm from the Houston area as well. I will have my surgery with Dr. Hollis on wednesday! PM me if you would like to chat.
  23. They got me in about a week or two from the day it was scheduled. I started my preop diet 1 week early. This allowed me time for an slip-ups I might have trying to adjust. I have lost 10 lbs and still have 5 days to go! So I haven't lost to much, I seem to be right on the money. I bought the vanilla shakes from True Results (they are actually pretty good) and then I have chocolate Muscle Milk from Wal-Mart.
  24. Wonderful news! Glad they helped you with the EGD. I wanted my srugery this week but the whole CA trip pushed it back a week. CONGRATS AGAIN! Oh, and enjoy your cruise.
