  1. You should have no problem being approved for your STD.. By having surgery you are eligible because your surgery is medically necessary because of obesity.. You shouldn't worry..
  2. Most doctors submit your weight from the day you first came in at your highest to the insurance companies. A doctor would be insane to cancel your surgery just because you are losing weight! That is the whole purpose.. The more you lose the easier your surgery will be! the surgery will prevent you from gaining it back.. Let's face it most of us can lose a thousand pounds, it's the keeping it off we seem to fail at..Hang in there you are doing great!!!
  3. I completely get what you said.. I think some people are sooo quick to judge they don't get the humor in anything!! I'm right there with ya!!
  4. Congrats on your amazing accomplishment!!!
  5. Hang in there y'all!! I'm 8 weeks post op tomorrow and down 43lbs!!!! I even had complications and had to have the open procesure because my doc nicked my colon when he began the laporacopic procedure.. I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days and have a scar from my breast bone all the way past my bellybutton!! But I finally made it to Onederland and it feels amazing!! The first few weeks are rough! I'm not gonna lie! You will cry, mourn food and hate yourself for doing this but when you get on that scale and it says 199 for the first time in over 10 years, you will be over joyed!! Hang in there it WILL get better!!! It IS better!!!
  6. I use to love water but now every time I drink it I get sick to my stomach! Anybody else have that reaction? I'm 6 weeks post op and doing well.. Just can't drink plain water!!
  7. Who would have ever thought refried beans would taste like heaven!!!
  8. At my first cook out since my surgery three weeks ago.. It's so hard wanting all the delicious foods cooked on the grill.. I guess I'm mourning the old way of eating :-/ I'm just sitting here watching everybody eat.. I know it will be easier soon but this is really really hard..
  9. I am 12 days post op and have not sweated once since surgery!! It is wonderful.. I'm actually sitting on couch covered up with a blanket and I live in Texas!! Ha!!
  10. I agree, no decaf for me either.. I've given up everything bad for me but am keeping my coffee and tea.. My Nut said its ok with her as long as I get all my Water in :-)
  11. I had the same feelings.. I'm still have a little bloat but not much and I am 13 days postop.. I did have to have an open operation instead of laparoscopic so that has caused me to heal much slower
  12. I was suppose to have laporascopic surgery but my surgeon pierced my colon when he first inserted the first tool...so he had to open me up the old fashion way.. I was cut from below my belly button to up between my breasts. I'm thankful he found the pierce right away and fixed it... I just got my 27 staples out yesterday. Recovery is taking a little longer but has not been to bad. I am 12 days postop and ready to be off liquids. I'm sure you should have no problem doing the laporascopic even with your scar :-)
  13. Why do you think people go through all of this surgery and everything just to gain back all the weight in a few years.. I'm so hoping the sleeve keeps me from doing that! I have several coworkers who have had the bypass and are almost all gaining the weight back.. I know food is an addiction for me so I will have to be very careful once I hit goal.. What are your thoughts?
  14. Well surgery was on monday the 9th.. Was suppose to have the laparoscopic but doc pierced my colon so ended up having to have the open sleeve surgery and repair to my colon.. Finally got to leave hospital today.. Lots of pain but getting stronger everyday.. Appetite is getting better. I finally ate 2 tablespoons of potato soup and half a protein shake today! Whoo hoo!! So ready to get well!!
  15. Well tomorrow is the day!! I leave for the hospital at 5:00am.. Surgery is at 7:30am!! I can't believe it's finally happening! I'm so excited, nervous, anxious, scared, and terrified all at the same time! Please pray for me to have a speedy recovery and no complications!!! See you guys on the loser bench!!!!
  16. Im on Day 5 and it's getting easier! Really tired of chewable vitamins already! Yuk! Guess I'll try the liquid ones next.. Hang in there!!
  17. I'm on day 3 of the liquid diet.. It gets easier each day but yes, I can't wait til it's over and I am sleeved and on the road to recovery!!
  18. Well it is day 2 of my 14 day preop diet and I have managed to bite the heads off several Coworkers and one family member! Hope it eases soon.. Don't like this feeling.. Come on July 9th!!! Anybody else real cranky doing the preop diet?
  19. This makes me laugh!! Only an overweight person could understand the joy in having their panties baggy!!!! I'm sure we will have to buy lots of smaller sizes on our way down the scale!!
  20. I'm right here with you! I start my preop tmro for my July 9th surgery! I'm nervous and excited too. I have been having a few food funerals too! I keep telling myself today is last day I will be overweight! I will start losing tmro and it will finally stay off this time!! You can do this!!!! I can do this!!! WE WILL DO THIS!!!
