  4. I had my surgery May 15th,2012. I had very little to no pain. I did not use the morphine pump in the hospital and did not take any of the pain medication I was sent home with. The only time I felt discomfort was when I would get up from laying down position, but the pain was very bareable. The key is when you are in the hospital try not to rely on the pain medication and get up and walk every two hours so that you keep the gas moving in your body so that it does not settle in your back or shoulders. I can not emphasize enough walk, walk, walk. Best of luck with everything.

  6. I have bcbs federal basic and my copayment for the hospital was 150.00 i was only in the hospital one day so the copayment covered it. but be careful i just received a bill for 7999.00 from someone that assisted in the OR that is apparently not in my network and I am giving this bill to my surgeon tomorrow when I go for my 7 week exam stating that I did not authorize anybody in the OR that was not covered by insurance considering I switched surgeons because the one I initally wanted was not in my network. I am sure the office will take care of it with insurance company and make sure that it is coded differently when it is rebilled to bcbs.
  7. If you decide that we should all get together and have an outing/party just fill me in and I will be there. Will be great to meet other locals to sit down chat and encourage each other
  8. Lond Islander here, sleeved on May 15th, 2012, lost 45 lbs as of Saturday the 30th. Had surgery with Dr. Angstadt, part of New York Bariatric Group, location of surgery was Mercy Hospital. If I could say one thing about Mercy Hospital is listen to what they tell you to do, especially at the pre-operative class they make you take. it helps and works. I did not take a single drop of pain medication in hospital or when I got home from the hospital, that was my choice I did not feel that the pain was enough to warrant taking it, considering I know the side effects of pain medication, lol.
  9. I was sleeved May 15th. I go for my one month follow up next week. The only problem I had was a slight allergic reaction at the incision sites from the internal sutures. Benadryl cream has worked wonders. To date I have lost 35 lbs although have not been on the scale in a little bit waiting til friday so I stick to once a week and don't get neurotic about it, lol.
  10. 86 lbs down that is awesome congrats on that amount of weight loss

  12. New to this site. Was sleeved May 15th. I live on Long Island, and I have to say it is great to have a site like this where people can get information and ask questions from fellow sleevers.
