Hi ladies. I'm new here. I've been lurking for a while now. I had my first appointment with my surgeon yesterday. It went very well. I have to do 3 months of pre-work before my insurance will approve me. I'm excited to start my journey but a little nervous. Hoping I can learn more info here. Thanks for all the insight so far. Oh, btw, I'm in Baton Rouge, LA. Any Louisiana people here?

Hi, I'm a newbie as well. I made the decision to get the band a few weeks ago. I had already gone to a seminar because I was thinking about the sleeve in 2012. I got pregnant and didn't pursue it. Now, I'm on the road to mu surgery. I have Aetna and I have to do 3 months supervised. I have an appointment with the surgeon and the nutritionist next week. Can't wait until this journey can officially begin.

I most look forward to not having to shop in the Plus size section. There are so many clothes that i want but can't fit into them. I'm bad now when it comes to clothes, I know it will only get worse. lol I also want to go to concerts and games without having to sqeeze into the seats. The plane is also bad.

It really came down to my insurance. i have Aetna. I was looking at BR General but it's out of network for my insurance. Then I had decided on Women's but my insurance only pays a max of 15k. Their cost is over 15k for the surgery. they I would had to pay for rverything over that. I was told, I might had a max out of pocket of 10k. That changed my mind. I got on here and satrted looking at different posts about which hospitals and doctors were being used. I did some research and liked Dr. G. Also, Lafayette General is $11500 for the surgey

Hi all, I live in Baton Rouge. I am getting everythinng together to start my process. I have narrowed down my surgeon and hospital. I will be going to Dr. G in Lafayette at Lafayette General. Hoping to start my 3 months around the middle of June. That way I can try to get my surgery in September. I want to have it done before my birthday in October. Hopefully. Hi all, I am also a newbie. I scheduled my seminar for Jun 12th. I have already been to one at another hospital. Don't know if I should go to another or just schedule the appointment with the surgeon. I have already found out what my insurance will and won't cover so that is done. I have to do the the three month deal first before surgery. Hoping to get this show on the road to my healthy and happy rest of my life.
