  1. No, not for me. I do burp, but not so loud that it attracts attention and no more than before the op. Some people get the "full" burps. That means burps that occur when you've eaten ENOUGH!
  2. Hey. All my gas gathered in my sternum, I had no pain in my shoulders. It could also be reflux, but I reckon it is most likely gas - and it's not comfortable. You'll be fine.
  3. Another midget here! I'm losing all over but am top heavy still. 5'0 and currently 168lbs.
  4. Exactly the same thing happened to me. Just leave it alone. Mine "dropped off/went away" of its own accord. See your doctor if it looks like its getting infected, otherwise leave it alone. What Mews says is right - all doctors internally stitch.
  5. Yes I agree with Lissa. The best gift you can give yourself is to drop the fags. I smoked for 25 years and could never imagine life without them. I planned trips around cigarette stops - it was ridiculous. Apart from that cigarettes make you smell BAD and literally rot you from the inside out. You will succeed in quitting if you really want to. If you put an equal amount of energy into quitting as you do weight loss you will win! Every time I lit a smoke I used to mentally picture the toxic smoke being sucked into my lungs and imagined what those chemicals were doing to the poor little pink cells in there. Eventually I just hated the sight of them and tossed the packet. I used patches for a week. It was tough for two weeks, but I just kept saying "I CAN have one,but I don't WANT one." That was two years ago. Haven't had one since. Good luck. Remember, it is a gift to yourself of quality of life.
  6. Wishing you all the very best. Sending good vibes out to you!
  7. Your story almost made me cry. It was beautiful. You have a wonderful husband!
  8. How did you go. You had me worried there. I hope you've seen your doc!
  9. Water isn't usually a problem. In fact at my clinic they advise you to drink a lot of water for the 24 hours prior to taking blood because it makes it easier to locate veins!
  10. Hope eveything is going well for you now Raven. Things always seem worse at night, we tend to lose perspective (well I do anyway). Googliing medical stuff is a surefire way to send yourself into a panic - I do it all the time ! Good luck -things are always better during the day.
  11. Great answers Cherry, Cat and Miriam. Thanks. Good to know we're not alone.
  12. Thanks VSGlass! Hope you're having a nice summer up there in Scotland!
  13. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA you absolutely crack me up you Ninja!
  14. I've got more chins than a chinese phone book. Could stand to lose a few of them.
  15. You girls are peaches. Thanks so much.
  16. Wow, you've lost a huge amount. Your tummy has shrunk!! Good on you.
  17. Yeah, I'm thinking stall too. Maybe, in order to help your back, you could do pilates. I read today that it is brilliant for strengthening core muscles (and thus the back).
  18. Good on you Karen. As you'd know people with bi polar and schizophrenia are prone to stop taking meds when feeling good - I guess they think "Hell, don't need them anymore." People with depression (in my experience) do the same thing. Not this little black duck - I've been on meds for nearly 15 years and have no plans to stop in the near future. It's so great that you have enough insight to be able to recognise that you need to stay on the meds!
  19. Hi Everyone. Hope all the gals enjoyed mother's day! We had a little celebration and I did eat half a chicken schnitzel ( I know you read this Trisha!!LOL) and today I was feeling exceptionally hungry so I ate some broiled chicken breast. Too much of it. I found it hard to breathe afterward. It has settled down now, but it came up on me way too quickly. I'm six weeks post op and chewed really really well, but I'm wondering if I can bust open my staples doing this? Now I'm going to by lying awake all night wondering if I'm leaking all because I ate too quickly to notice the full signal! I'm really struggling getting used to the sleeve - something I thought would be so easy. Feeling so good now that I actually forget I have it and then BANG! YOU'RE FULL - WAY TOO FULL! This has only happened twice, once with the schnitzel yesterday and again today with the chicken. I feel like a sabotaging fool, but it isn't deliberate. Thanks for your answers!
  20. I'm six weeks out and realised last night that I felt absolutely normal for the first time in ..... six weeks. I have no headaches, discomfort, dizziness or nausea that was bugging me. I felt able to do normal activities within a week of surgery though.
  21. Yes. And it will come and go for a while. Just make sure you're taking your vitamins and getting your protein.
  22. Wow. This is like deja vu. I've been exactly where you are. With a guy for 10 years - the loveliest guy, kind, considerate etc. Towards the end of our relationship I was lusting after almost anything male and sleeping with my boyfriend repulsed me because it felt like I was sleeping with my brother! It was unkind of me to keep staying with him just because we were in a kind of happy habit. In the end I did break it off, a few months later I met the lust (and love) of my life, and 15 years on we are still in lust (and love). It is kinder to him to break off now, in my humble and completely unprofessional opinion. Let him find someone who lusts after him just the way he is.
