  1. I got my protein powder from my doctors office prior to surgery. Since then I heard people talking about the Premier Protein shakes that you see advertised on this forum. I think they taste like chocolate milk and they fill me up.
  2. I was also starving on liquids, I am now on soft foods or mushies. My stomach hasn't stopped growling since my surgery 4/25/2012. I could have fat free popsicles and fat free Jello on my liquids. The jello was the one thing that sort of filled me up. Good luck to you on your journey. AND remember the liquids don't last forever, you will move on.
  3. I had the choice of staying overnight or leaving. I had surgery at 11:00 am and went home at 7:00 pm. I had some pain that was relieved with the pain meds. I believe you are more comfortable at home in your own bed.
  4. I had a cruise planned when they called me with my surgery date which was one week before the cruise. Although I had to postpone my surgery a month I am still very glad I did that. I enjoyed the cruise had a great time and started my pre-op diet when I returned. If I had went after the surgery I do not think It would have been as enjoyable. You have to decide what is right for you but I am very happy I took the vacation and postponed the surgery.
  5. Congrats to you and good luck with continued success! I love hearing the success stories.
  6. So wonderful to hear a happy story. Congratulations to you!
  7. I voted, you really do look alike. Good Luck!
  8. Hi Cristal, Just my opion but I think you should set your goal at whatever makes you comfortable. I weighed 277 at my highest after talking to my doctor we decided 100 lbs was a good goal. So I set my goal at 175, WHEN I get to 175 I can always set a new goal if I think I need too. You can do the same, so set that goal where you you feel you need it you can always change if you choose. Good luck on your journey.
  9. I had a sleep study and I went to the hospital at 9:00 pm, they have you get in PJ's and then they stick wires all over your head. You just go to sleep like you would do at home but they monitor you while you sleep. It does not hurt, it is not uncomfortable. Hope that helps. Good luck on your journey.
  10. I know exactly how you feel and that is the same reason I chose the band. I had surgery on 4/25/12, two days before my surgery I was freaking out, What am I doing? This is crazy! I am not doing this! My friend talked me through it, I had my surgery and I did awesome. Very little pain and I feel great. I must say I am hungry, liquids for two weeks just does not cut it but this will pass and I will move on to the next stage. I am a little scared of what is to come but also looking forward to it.
