  1. Do you have an email group to send out info of upcoming meetings? If so please add me- mon.storey@yahoo.com. Thanks!!
  2. Hi! April 26 is my one-year bandiversary!! Im looking for a group for support! My email is mon.storey@yahoo.com
  3. I've lost 55lbs in 5 months. It's been slower this past month. I really don't exercise though. Sometimes I walk. I think the big key is LOW carbs/sugar!!!! I'm happy if it goes slow bc then the skin can keep up and not get too saggy. That's my goal anyway!!
  4. Hi April Bandsters! Yesterday was my 5month bandiversary. I've lost 55 lbs. how is everyone else doing???

  6. Thanks for this post. I needed it today. To remind me of how far I have come. I, too, have hit my 50lb point. I hit it a month or so ago and have been on a plateau, letting snacks creap back in. I haven't gained any but know I'm eating more carbs than protein. I have been feeling down about it. I go to a support group once a month but don't have any "friends" with the band who "get" what I'm going through physically and emotionally. Reading your post reminded me of all I have been through to get to where I am today and how great I have done and how great I feel and how much I enjoy people telling me how great I look. Thanks so much!!
  7. Happy one month bandiversary to April 24thers!!!
  8. Almost one month with the band. Just got my first fill. 2.4 cc. im wondering if anyone is having difficulty toleration dairy??? Im having pretty bad pains in my chest and I guess it's gas. Trying to figure out if it's something specific I'm eating.
  9. Ugh. I've had a sharp pain in my chest for three days now. Got an X-ray and first fill yesterday so we know nothing is stuck. Been taking gas x and walking. Not helping. Not sure it's gas but don't know what else it could be. Anyone??
  10. Thanks! I'm looking forward to it bc I'm fairly hungry often right now so I def need it.
  11. Wow. That stuff is really bad. But it tastes so good! Ugh!!!
  12. I'm nervous and excited!
  13. JUSTDOIT---- I tried to send that as a private message but it wouldn't work. Feel free to message me if you want. Maybe you can get it to work.
  14. Hey! Ok I'm a huge fan. I know a lot of songs. Maybe not all but there were a couple songs I didn't know. So I guess they were new. Very mellow. The opening show was in Houston Friday night. Then Dallas was Saturday night. When they are in Houston they play a lot of songs and not a lot of long jam sessions. Then in Dallas they do fewer songs and lots of looooong jam sessions. I prefer more songs and less jamming. So I always prefer Houston. I'm going again in VA next month- which is my favorite place!!!
  15. Well the biggest issue I have with all this, as a LapBand newbie, is the conflicting info. My surgeon did not tell me not to drink soda. And I haven't heard anything about peanut butter until 6 months. My surgeon seems to be a kind of "well try it and see" kind of guy so I don't feel like I'm going against anything really. Like I said- all the conflicting info is hard to sort out. Just need to figure out how to make this tool work best for me

  17. Yeah I don't want pain OR appetite stimulation so I'm done.
  18. Well I had gone a month without soda. Even fought it at the Dave Matthews Band concert last night. I thought I'd try a diet coke today bc I don't have any saline in my band yet and wanted to see if I could. It wasn't horrible but it was painful. I could burp fine so it wasn't that. I think maybe it expanded my esophogus/stomach enough to press on the band?? I don't know. But it wasn't really worth it so that's done. NO desire to drink it flat so thats that.
  19. Wow that's great. I get my first fill Tuesday which will be almost one month post op. I'm ready Bc I'm hungry quite a bit! I'm doing well unthinking but its hard!
  20. Yeah I never even thought about seeing if I could get short term disability. Wish I would have tried that!!
  21. Well right at 2 weeks post-op my shoulder stopped hurting. It still hurts a little here and there but NOTHING like it was!!!! So happy!!! I just walked and walked and I think that really helped. Maybe it was gas. Who knows. What an adventure we are all on huh?!?
  22. I was hoping that too. Some people have much less trouble than I did so cross your fingers! I did it on a Thursday and went back to work Wednesday and was miserable. Then had to take Thursday off then worked Friday and Monday and took Tuesday off again. It was rough! But that's just me. I have a job that takes a LOT of emotional strength - with clients all day long. So that made it harder than maybe for others.
  23. Yes. Gas. I had a killer pain in my left shoulder for two weeks. I was so scared it would never go away and then finally yesterday- its gone!! They told me it was gas and some say it's a nerve that the band is hitting that's connected to my shoulder. I dont know! But that was my worst part.
  24. I'm worried about all that too. But the bottom line was that I've tried for 30 years to lose weight on my own ( since I was 10) an it hasn't worked. I needed something drastic- the safest drastic thing. So that's what I did. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago today. Whatever I have to do to stay healthy now I will do it. Because I'm tired of being miserable. So no more fruit. So be it. Whatever. But I haven't had anyone tell me no fruit or veggies. That's prob the hardest thing about all this- sorting out the conflicting info.
