  1. I saw him at my pre-op visit & on the day of surgery. Haven't seen him since. I've only seen the nurse practitioners for my fills. A different one each time. 2 I liked, 1 I strongly disliked. I have waited up to 2 hours after my appt time to get seen for my fill, major con. But a pro is they are aggressive with fills so hopefully I can get to the green zone soon.
  2. I've had a few NSV's in the past month or so, but yesterday was my biggest! I was walking into Walmart & caught a reflection of myself in the door & couldn't believe what I saw....my collar bone!!! It's been in hiding for a few years. I never thought something so small could mean so much!
  3. Can anyone recommend a good protein bar?? I've been having problems on days I work with getting too hungry between lunch & dinner. I eat lunch at 11am & bc of the work I do I don't get to sit down for another meal until after 6pm. By then I'm famished & binge on all the wrong foods. I'm thinking if I eat a protein bar or 2 in between meals I won't feel the need to binge at dinner. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  4. Going in for my 2nd fill today. Hoping for at least some restriction this time. I've been the same weight for almost 3 weeks & my will power is getting weak. I'm thankful I haven't gained bc I know I'm eating way more than I should be. Keeping fingers crossed that I'm close to some restriction!
  5. I am flying in August & am hoping that I can comfortably sit without the arm rests digging in my thighs! We are going on an Alaskan cruise & one of our excursions is ziplining. There is a 250 weight limit. Thankfully I'm below that, but not by much. The more you weigh, the slower you go. My husband is about 10 lbs lighter than me so my fear is that he'll fly down & I'll be slowly gliding. So my goal is to weigh less than him by the time we go!
  6. Almost 11 months after giving birth to my son I am finally back in my prepregnancy clothes! It's only a small accomplishment bc I was still obese before I got pregnant, but at least I'm not wearing maternity clothes anymore! I was also able to put my 2XL scrub pants away & pull out the XL! Only 2 more sizes to go to be back in the mediums in the bottom of the pile! YAY!

  8. Checking in at 234.8!!! Finally a loss!
  9. So I couldn't do liquids for 2 days, so just had soft today. I realize this is a slow process, but as a previous post stated, it is mentally painful! I get full on about a cup of food, but was hungry again 2-3 hours later. I'm told not to snack & only eat 3 meals or less, but my stomach is literally growling! So I don't think fill #1 restricted me, but that's ok. I will be patient & continue doing what I'm doing.
  10. I had my first fill today. I now have 3.8cc (confused about the odd number). I'm back on liquids for 2 days, then soft for 1 day. And I'm already hungry. I hope I get some restriction once I go back to solids!
  11. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op & living in bandster hell. I am basically dieting on my own bc I feel no restriction. I am following the rules but feel I could eat as much as I want whenever I want if I tried. Will my first fill help give me some restriction? I've heard that most people don't reach the green zone until after a few fills, but I'm hopeful I will get some restriction tomorrow.
  12. Scale hasn't budged in 2 weeks...still at 240 :-(
  13. Checking in at 240...no loss, but no gain. I guess I can't complain. Good luck to everyone else!
  14. Well my family is use to me dieting, so I figure I will play it off as another fad diet I'm on. I don't have any fill yet, so getting stuck isn't too big of concern. Now I just have to worry about all the tempting food!!
  15. I'm down 20 lbs since starting preop diet 2 weeks before surgery.
  16. I was banded on 4/23 & so far I've done pretty good following post op diet. Yes I did sneak in a few soft foods during my full liquids phase, but for the most part I've respected my band. Since my band I haven't eaten out except for some soup at Jason's Deli one time. Well I'm about to face my biggest challenge this coming weekend. With it being Mother's Day weekend we have alot of outings planned. In my family, we celebrate with food. I am determined to stick to my 4 oz rule given by my doctor. I've already checked out the menus of the restaurants we'll be going to & know what I will order. The only one in my extended family that knows about my surgery is my mother. I chose not to tell anyone else bc I feel that when others know you're attempting weight loss they tend to "watch" everything you place in your mouth. Let's hope I can get through this weekend without looking suspicious or overeating! I have no fill right now so this is going to be all willpower!
  17. It all comes down to the fact that there is no such thing as miracle weight loss. No matter if you try fad diets, take appetite suppressants or have WLS, it's still a lifestyle change that you have to commit to for "life". I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out from getting banded so I know I still have a long road ahead of me with alot to learn, but when I made the decision to put down $10,000 to get banded I made a commitment to give up my old ways & start a new, healthier way of living. Could I have done the same thing without a $10,000 band placed on my stomach??? Probably. But I need that tool, which is all the band is, to help me. I was addicted to carbs prior to the band. Breads, pastas, cakes & candy. I haven't had a bite of bread or pasta in over 4 weeks. And I can honestly say, I'm doing fine without it. It is a lifetime commitment. Not a quick fix.
  18. Weighed in at 240....down 3 lbs since last week!! Good luck to all!
  19. This is great to know! I don't take medicine very often, but it's good to know I can take pills!
  20. Does anyone know at what point, if ever, that we can take pill form medications??? I have been using children's liquid Tylenol for the occasional headache & I can barely get it down! It's like swallowing bubble gum flavored sugar! Now I know why my son gags everytime I give it to him!
  21. For those that cannot take Benadryl, try the Benadryl cream...I haven't yet, but the itching is killing me so I will be getting some today. I can only take oral Benadryl at night bc it knocks me out!
  22. I am almost 2 weeks post op & today I'm HUNGRY! The past few days I've been hungry often, but I could eat a 1/2 cup of soup & be satisfied for a few hours. This morning I ate a bowl of oatmeal & after I finished I still felt hungry. Not getting a fill until May 24....guess it's time for will power to kick in! Anyone else experiencing this?
  23. Also forgot to mention that my new best friend is myfitnesspal app! Logging my food is so helpful. Please add me if you use it as well.... gale1016
