  1. Hi I haven't posted in a bit. So here goes I was 365 my highest lost to 330 was sleeved on March 26th and today I am 221. Best thing I ever did.
  2. Hi For those of you who are new I am a Nurse Aide at a local hospital. I was sleeved on March 26th 2012 I started at 327 and today I am 258. I have had few stalls during the last couple months. I noticed them starting mostly when I went back to work. I can say it was hard to get the food and liquid in. I had to make myself take the time to sit down and eat. I stall big time at first, I know it was because I was not getting in enough calories. Work is much easier for me now than at 327. I use to hate bending over to empty a foley bag. It felt like my insides were cruching. I can tell you I had went to part time because it was hard for me to do pt. care. I went back full time 2 weeks ago and feel AWSOME the energy is crazy. For those who are waiting I am so exctied for you!!!! Your life is changing but keep in mind it is a slow process after the first big weightloss. But you will keep loosing it will feel like it is never going to come off. You will stall and you will worry if it is going to work for you because so many things have failed for you in the past. My new favorit thing is the 42g protine shots from New whey Liquid, have like 190 calories they are at Wal-Mart, there is 6 for like 13.88. I do one in the a.m, it is like 3oz. I hate shakes could never find one I liked. This is wonderful I can get this down in like three drinks and done. I felt like shakes last forever. If you are a new sleeve you wont get it down in three drinks will take a few more. Feel free to ask me any questions if I can be of any help to you! Good luck and congrads on doing the best thing you could have ever done for yourself.
  3. So nice to hear all the nurses do like us CNA's lol. I can tell you I was sleeved on March 26th and I can tell you it is the best thing I ever did for myself. I feel 100% better I can tell it has made my job so much easier. I started at 327 and today was 268. I can tell you it is still pound for pound and as time goes no you still want those bad foods we all find comfort in. This has been my challenge the past few months. If any help to you all I had a hard time at first fearing this would not work because so many thing have not worked in the past. I did not want to go for my 2 week check up in fear it did not work. I lost 17lb the first week. Then it was the 6 week check up when the MA told me I was not doing well I was in the 10% for weight loss. I was dying to see the doc just knowing I was not doing well. He was upset she said that to me because at that stage it is to early to put a % on any weight loss. Most people are still holding Fluid from the surgery. I love being back at work and if feels good to hear everyone say how good I look but said to say there are some haters who question if I really lost that much weight lol. I just keep in mind I have lost that much and I never had a goal weight in mind to reach. I went into this wanting to be a healther me and I am doing just that so I dont care where the scale ends as long as I feel better. Good luck to you all feel free to ask me any question along your way.
  4. Hi I am a Nurse Aide in Michigan I had my sleeve done in March I am down 55 have been in a stall the last few weeks. It seems like when I went back to work things slowed down with the weight loss. I think it because I know I dont get alot of food in when I work. Or water for that matter you know sometimes you can pack a lunch but you have no time for lunch. I eat on the run. So make time to eat and drink at work I have been making myself take that 15 min to get something in.

Had To Go To Er, Surgery Is In 6 Days!

Well this is my Pre-op story. Went on a Monday for my pre-surgery testing. Got a call on Wednesday that I had Fluid in my right kidney. Keep in mind on January 18th I had a kidney stone on the right side. Was in the hospital for that and was told it was passed. Two weeks after that back in the hospital kidney stone on left side. Passed that one. So got the call that day that had the fluid in the right side. Called my doc the weight loss doc fax him the report. Well he put me in the hospital did a procedure on March 17th then had a lithotripsy on March 20th and still had my sleeve done on March 26th. All three times I was put under and was on pain meds. Still did good wont say it was easy after my sleeve but that is just because I was just so worn down. Goood Luck

I read on here from some to eat more, walk more and get in more protine done all of this and still no weight loss. My doc said this is normal my body needs sometime to blance out form the quick weight loss. Still scary when it has been a lifetime of diet faliure. Keep it up and stick to it.

9 Days Post Op And Starting To Want More

I myself disagree with the not feeling hunger and it being head hunger. I am 5 weeks out and about week 2 I was hungery!!! I feel it is real hunger. To the point of feeling sick like low blood surger. I did have soft foods 1 day before I should have. From what I was told from the start by Dr. Taylor Ghrelin does come back in about a yr. It is just what the body does and that why it is important to get to goal in that time. I am down 26 in 5 weeks. i noticed as the swelling went down the more I could drink and eat.
