  1. I would love too join! I'll ask about it when I go in on Thursday. I have to do the 6 month thing too. I pushed it back because I had to come up with almost 6000 that included insurance so come march I am changing plans. Will pay more a month but will be worth it. I'm going to contact the HR dept and ask of the additional 3000 co pay will still be in affect. I hope they can change that. I don't have it nor can I afford to take a loan....(. Never hurts to ask! Look forward to meeting you and others!
  2. My appt is actually Thursday....... don't know why I keep thinking today is Wed........It will be Dr Valentine. Are you thinking of doing this as well?
  3. I am in Nampa! I have not been sleeved yet. I have my first nut appt tomorrow. I like to come here and read all the stories.
  4. Oh goodness!!! I hate to throw up, I would use that as a excuse to not due the surgery cause I hate it so much, let alone dry heaves. So sorry you feel icky.
  5. Thank you. I'm pretty blind to all this insurance stuff. Flexible spending account? I don't have the 3000 to do that. But I do think I'm going to write our company and see it won't hurt that's for sure!
  6. I think that is great! Next time you go into a grocery store pick up a 20 pd bag of taters! I'm a cashier and every time I have to move or pick up something that I think is not heavy I think WOW I could loose triple that amount!
  7. We have BCBS of Florida they cover the sleeve now as of aug 1 but we have to pay an extra 3000 plus co pays and deductibles ect. Why I mean surgery is surgery it all relates to your health.

Anyone who has BCBS have to pay an extra *3000* or any different amount to have * gastric * surgery? That is an additional to what your deductible, co insurance is. I mean surgery is surgery regardless of what kind they all are done do due to some sort of health related issue? Why I ask is I'm thinking of getting in contact with HR seeing if they will still have that when it comes time to renew OR see if they can drop this part. Sounds silly I know but I have seen other BCBS that don't have this *extra*
  9. I too get the same thing, Oh your not that big, or your not FAT. Like hell.........I'm 5'5 and I'm pushing 250. I carry it well I say........I have the high blood pressure, high cholestrol, border line diabetic, my joints hurt, tired of being out of breath doing the simplest of things. I have tried everything and I mean everything only to gain it back plus some. I have always had a weight issue even when I was a child. Well you know what, I am going to be 50 next year and I'm tired of feeling this way!! My family is supportive, I have a few friends who say I'm just going to regret it and I'll die. I'm going to die being this Fat. It's been 30 years since I have weighed 150, and even then I was over weight.........I say screw what people say and do it for you, do what you feel is right inside. Do what your body, mind and soul are saying. I have my first Nut visit the 20th, I'm looking forward to my new journy but at the same time I am scared! I don't know what it feels like to be thin....... I wish you the best!!!
  10. Welcome! I took have looked and read and is taking the steps to move forward!!! Good luck on your new journey....)
  11. Wishing you both the beat too! We can do this. I have a friend here at work who supports my decision 100%. And tells me what all of you have said. Hard part will be I work in a grocery store as a cashier, i hope I do well with that. Thanks ladies for all your responses it really does give me the motivation to keep going.....)
  12. Congratulations! Glad it all went well......makes me feel a whole lot better seeing these kind of posts! Speedy recovery....
  13. Thank you ladies for all of your encourging words!! It means a lot and it makes me rethink things. I am a over thinker and sometimes I just stress out over things for nothing. First Nut visit is the 20th.......
  14. K so I was excited to get all this going, now I am having second thoughts. That I should leave my body alone and just stay heavy. Is it gods plan for me to be this way, a lesson to learn. I have all these what if thoughts. Anyone else feel like this? Anyone who has crossed over to the sleeve side? Help! Advice? Anything....
  15. Lol, I have not been sleeved yet but funny this topic came up! I told my hubby the other morning it sure would be nice to see it again to shave other than doing it by Braille'
  16. I have a friend who had gastric, she told me not to do the sleeve because you can never have your tummy back. She said hers is reversible.
  17. I would have no idea, as I think all this insurance stuff is confusing, sorry I couldn't be of help.......Good luck
  18. Thank you Bella, all this insurance stuff is so confusing, it's nice to have a outside source to talk too! Thanks again!!
  19. Hello??? Am I invisible? I'm frustrated any input would be helpful.
  20. I was just wondering if it would be wrong of me to call HR asking about the additional 3000 co pay it has for biatric surgery. I have read other posts that other BCBS does not have that extra co pay. I'd like to know if they will still have that and or maybe ask if they can get rid of that extra....lol. Silly I know but I can not afford that. I do have plans or changing our plan policy to one that covers more with lower decductible and co pays, which means more deduction on my hubby's paycheck. As like everyone else we live on a budget and we can't do a extra loan. Any one have any thoughts or experiences with the same issue I am going through? Thanks, Teri
  21. That is fAntastic! It must feel sooooo good!!!!! Congratulations
