    Slow Down Some

OMG! your weight loss is freaking' fantastic 171lbs lost in 7mths that is incredible. I understand you are concerned have you spoken to your nutritionist or doctor; you should really try to get in more calories to help slow down the weight loss. It is great you go to the gym all the time and do not have a problem with sagging skin. How much time do you spend in the gym? Do you weight training or resistance bands or both? Congrats again on your success!

    Water Intake

I did not have a problem staying hydrated after surgery because all you do is drink or eat sugar free popcicle and soup. Now, 2 months later I have a problem drinking enough water I am only getting in about 50 oz a day. I think you will be fine after your surgery....good luck yeah!!!!
  9. Hello Afreeka, My name is Lee and I was just sleeved on 7/20 thus far my experiences have been positive no vomitting,no pain, no nausea; I am down 14 lbs. When I decided to have the surgery my family was very supportative but I only told my mother and sister because people will try to judge you and make you second guess your decision. My point being this is your decision to make you healthier. I did feel the same way like I had failed and I should be able to loose weight on my own but after years of trying I just could not do it the sleeve is a tool it is not instant weight lost, it is not magic. Good luck with your surgery!

  13. Hello AngelaKay2, I can relate to being scared to death I have pushed back my surgery until 7/11 instead of 6/20 due to job issues. But my fear of doing the surgery is sooooo real until this pass weekend at was at my mother's house and found an old nutrition form I had filled out when I was seeing a nutritionist dated 2/2001 at that time my weight was 310 today 11 years and several diets laters my weight is still 310......I refuse to spend 11 more years overweight..... You will find the courage/strength to continue with this journey to improve your health and way life. I agree totally with everyone's replies on this topic. Good luck with your decision.

Lap Band Users Switching To Sleeve

Thanks everyone for sharing a piece of your journey with me; I really do have a lot to continue to think about…..I feel like this decision has consumed my life….. Thanks again for your help!
  15. Hello everyone, My questions are for those of you who tried the lap band first and now being sleeved was there a problem with your lap band? why did it not work for you? or were there complications and lap band had to be removed? I am still torn between which surgery to have initially I was going to do the Sleeve surgery schedule 6/20 but I am now back tracking to the lap band. The reason being I just hate the thought of having surgery and lap band just seems to have less complications. Please offer any comments are advise Lee

    Dr.s In New York

I am not familiar with Long Island I live in Jersey City.....my doctor is actually in Paramus but I am not sure about him anymore; I can not find anyone who has used him as a surgeon and that has me worried. So, I did some more research and found Dr. Garber but he is not covered under my plan but his partner Dr. Angstatd is and he had good reviews so I schedule an appt to meet with him to discuss my surgery. My surgery is actually schedule for 6/20 with the dr. in Paramus.....right now I do not know what I am going to do?

I Thought I Was Ready But...

Hello, I have not had my surgery yet (6/20/12) but you are doing great! You can eat soft puree food for 6 weeks you do not want to injury your stomach. So drink plenty of water/protein shakes you can have soft fruit or try mashed potatoes in a week. When you feel like you are hungry take a walk the exercise will help in your recovery. Please do not give up!
  22. Did anyone have complications from the surgery? Are there in Jersey City Groups I would love to speak to someone from Jersey City who has had the surgery to give me advice, so I could ask questions on what to expect before and after the surgery recovery time. My doctor told me to take 1 week off but in reading some of the information on the blog most people here took 3 weeks off?

    Considering Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Thank you Topgun for the advice I am driving myself crazy with worry "what if" situation. I am trying to take it one day at a time. This is such a big decision especially for a person who hates going under the knife. But I am going to stay positive and push forward with my decision to have the surgery. You continue to get better/stronger and loose that weight!
