Its interesting how each dr or group has their own policy with food. I sure am glad that they start with mush I could hardly take the clear liquids pre-op diet. They want us to have between 45 and 60 grams of protein a day. I definitly didnt have that much the first day but I'm working my way up slowly.

We are sleeve buddies!! also got sleeved on Tuesday, got home last night...the worst is over...congrats!

Finally on the other side!!!!!!. Had my sleeve tuesday morning. Surgery went smoothly....I stayed overnight and after passing the test (nasty liquid) was able to have liquids and some mooshy food for lunch, which was basically 1 tablespoon of mashed chicken and was cleared to leave at 5 pm .Making sure to take my pain meds every 4-6 hours and gas relief when needed. I had 1 scrambled egg for breakfast ate it very slowly, lost 7 lbs from Monday looking forward to a new me!!!!!!

The office staff is real nice, I was very impressed with the hospital...The only issue I had was that the office didnt let me know that my insurance approved the surgery I had to keep calling and be on top of that... I will let you know how it went post op looking forward!

I went to another dr in Brooklyn (Sherwinter) I didnt like the Hospital or staff and when I researched Dr. Angstatd and the group I got real good info. I like the single incision method!! I have to call up monday afternoon to find out what time surgery is on Tuesday...are you sure you have an appoint. with Angstatd on Tuesday?

yes, Dr. angstadt is my doctor. My sleeve is scheduled this Tuesday the 22nd at Mercy Hospital. He is very professional and patient. I can let yuou know more after the surgery.

so confused.....I have my surgery date next tuesday the 5/22 and I keep thinking maybe I can lose weight on my own and shouldnt go through with it. My sister found out today that she has to have her lapband removed because of erosion......I know I'm going for the sleeve but still nervous about the surgery and the idea of not being able to eat.....

I feel the same way starving!!! today is the first day I'm strict, I'm 8 days to surgery and called the office to let them know I cheated from the begining, they said to be strict from today and it will be okay...it doesnt hurt to ask...good luck!!

my surgeon said to be on 2 wk liquid diet. What happens if I start strict today, my surgery date is May 22 I have had 2 protein meal replacements and somehow managed to cheat with somthing small (ex salsa & some tortilla chips). I hope it's ok.....

I was at the surgeon this week and decidedfor the sleeve over the lapand....when I came home my husand (he actually did the lapband earlier this yr) said he heard negative things about the sleeve and I should do the band instead. I'm confused as I liked the fact that 1. theres no foreign object 2. no port and constant dr. visits 3. the hunger hormone is diminished 4. no vomiting like the band 5. more drastic weight loss. He thinks its not safe.....
