Ninja, Bullet, Blender Or Food Processor?
My daughter bought me an Oster mini blender for Christmas last year. It is a sports bottle size blender that, once blended, you can twist off the blade attachment and twist on the lid that you can drink out of. I love it! Here is a link... http://www.amazon.com/Oster-BLSTPB-WBL-250-Watt-Blender-Powder/dp/B004P2OLB8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1345038765&sr=8-4&keywords=oster+blender It is a 20 oz. bottle so it wouldn't be good for large volumes of food or liquid. Hope this helps!

3 Days Post-Op And Feeling Regret :'(
Hang in there! I'm sure it's no fun but in a week you won't feel regret. This is just one of the bad moments, it will get better!!

People Have Started To Treat Me Differently
Absolutely!! I do feel a bit more outgoing so I think your theory may be right about the positive feedback. Just try and remember that positive feedback when you get the negative...it will happen. The world is full of negative nancies.

Weight Loss
Maybe cut out the crackers all together. I still don't eat crackers and I'm 8 months out. I know some people can, and I am capable, I just don't. You, being so fresh from surgery, need to really work on getting in your protein. It really will help your body bounce back. Get some Greek yogurt.

Weight Loss
I say throw away the scales!! It will come off and weighing often only causes stress.

Learn To Take A Compliment Already!
I'm saying this lumping myself into this category too, we need to stop the FOOD = LOVE concept!! Now, that is easier said than done...but it needs to happen. With us with our families, America in general.

Learn To Take A Compliment Already!
I dislike this very much! That is an amazing accompishment!! Way to go!

Learn To Take A Compliment Already!
I too have this problem. I do try to just say thank you but it sometimes doesn't sound sincere. People I see quite a bit I explain that I'm not great at accepting compliments yet but I appreciate their kind words. We need to learn to take people for what they say but it is so much easier said than done. I also hate it when people say "what are you doing? You look great!" I have been counseled to tell them thank you and that I have been exercising and watching what I eat and eating less. I don't have to tell EVERYONE that I had surgery and I don't have to feel like I'm not really doing anything. I AM exercising and yes, I can't eat as much as I used to but I AM also watching what I'm eating. We all need to do more patting ourselves on the back. Good luck to you and if you come up with anything that really helps you in these awkward situations, please let me know what it is.

Is Something Wrong?
Just remember everyone is different so you will do things differently, feel differently and have different reactions than your Mother. It is nice to have someone who has been through it but don't stress yourself out because some things are different than your Mother's experience. I'm sure you're doing great!!

Post Op Questions
I had numbness and pain in my left thigh for a good amount of time after surgery. I talked to my surgeon about it and he said it could just be the effects of the anethesia. He did tell me that if it didn't get better to make sure I contacted him so that he could run any tests needed to be sure it wasn't a blood clot. It wasn't a blood clot. I would say just give it a little time and if it is still bothering you on Monday I would contact your surgeon's office just to ask about it. I can't remember how long it took me to get hungry for something. I know by about 1 1/2 weeks out I didn't want liquids anymore, so I guess that would be when. Good luck!

Help! Last 10 Pounds And What I Must Do...
Ugh! I forgot to add that you should flatten out the mound of cheese otherwise it won't "crisp".

Help! Last 10 Pounds And What I Must Do...
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese can be made into cheese crisps. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, you may need to spray it with cooking spray too, and put one tablespoon of the cheese per crisp on the baking sheet (like cookies) and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Let cool and eat.

Need A Little Support Right Now
Kimmy, no amount of advice we can give will ease your pain but hopefully the support you get here will. I would suggest getting out and walking, preferably with someone you can talk to. Walk (or another exercise you enjoy) your stress out. It does help me sometimes. The best of luck to you!!

Help! Last 10 Pounds And What I Must Do...
I just checked my carbs and they are CRAZY high compared to what your nutritionist said we should be consuming. I have fallen into the pop chip, rice cake, 90 calorie brownie trap. Here is what I notice. If I ACTUALLY sit down and eat a meal, for instance my turkey burger (no bun) with mini babybel melted on it for lunch, I was very full by the time I finished it. Yesterday I had cottage cheese with a little fruit and snacked like a mad woman. Today, right now, I don't feel like eating everything in sight. I am interested to see what comments you get on this subject. I need to go back to making those Snacks a treat and not an everyday thing, I know that. If I can't get away from them then I'm going to have to ramp up my exercise even more! Good luck to you though! Oh and I'm still jealous of those bikini pics.

Who Here Can Eat Rice Comfortably? Anyone?
I'm 7 1/2 months out and I can eat a couple of tablespoons of rice without any problems. I could probably eat more I just want to make sure I have room for my protein. I guess with sushi you would wrap it all in one.

Just Say No
I've not been told that, better double check. Thanks!!

Just Say No
Yay! I wasn't much for the pain meds either. Didn't take anything but ibuprofen once I came home. Good luck with continuing your quick recovery!

Hair Loss?
I also have hypothyroidism. I had surgery in November. My hair was pretty thick before hand. It is very thin now but I have never been close to bald. I worried I would be by seeing all the hairballs in my brush and in the drain. (so gross, sorry!) I take a biotin supplement that I get over the counter in the herbal supplement aisle. I lose A LOT less hair now at 7 months out, mostly due to having no problems getting my protein in I think. I don't think you will be bald for your wedding. I have read a few threads about hair loss but I personally haven't seen anyone complain about actual baldness. Good luck!!

Swimsuit Comparison Pics! Brave, I Know!
GREAT job! I admit it, I'm jealous. I don't even look good in a two piece that covers everything because of all of my loose skin. I agree with Lissa, you did a great job toning. Here's a new exercise, pat yourself on the back...you deserve it and we don't do it enough!!

No More Weightloss?
I know exactly where you are, mentally and physically. You're doing it right, I promise. You just need to be patient, which is SO HARD, I know!! Keep your head up. You are on the right path.

No More Weightloss?
First of all, remember that this battle is a mental journey as well. I think we ALL go through these periods where we feel we aren't losing weight and get depressed. I recommend getting rid of your scale and using clothes as a guide for weightloss instead of focusing on numbers. (not a popular suggestion, FYI) Numbers can be MEAN! I worried for the first few months that I wasn't doing things right. Sounds like you are doing what you can. As long as you are following doctor's orders I'm sure you will be getting what your body needs. I think we all need to keep our minds just as busy as our bodies to achieve our goals.

Just Wondering...
Patting ourselves on the back is an exercise I think we all need to take up! We are all doing some amazing things and I don't think most of us give ourselves enough credti. You're doing great, pat yourself on the back!!
