  1. I am 9 months out too!!! Yay may 2012 sleevers! U look amazing!
  2. At week 4 I started grapefruit and oranges--no liquid just straight fruit. Grapefruit was easy because if you remove skin the texture is awesome, oranges were a bit of a problem, messy without skin. Also high acid sometimes made me uncomfortable. Try it-- either if works or it won't
  3. U must be a carb angel! 2-4g of carb for 15-17 protein doesn't seem bad to me as a supplement, not a Meal Replacement. I get 80-100g protein daily and half of that in carbs daily.
  4. I'm sure u will be in quickly! Advanced laparoscopic is just an amazing team, my girlfriend had travedi-- his follow up is awesome! Good luck!
  5. I will share tomorrow when I'm at my real computer. But I like the blog by eggface--she has great recipes.
  6. It isnt anything spectacular--cold coffee--8-10oz and one scoop chocolate Protein powder, ice, skim milk and sometimes a drop of vanilla extract. Caramel Torani sugar free syrup is a good option too for caramel iced coffee with vanilla Protein Powder or unflavored. Mix is with cold coffee or it clumps...u can heat after it is mixed if you prefer.
  7. i put unflavored Protein powder in some things to make sure i hit 80g-100g of protein daily. Breakfast I usually have eggs with cheese and some type of meat--like a bacon slice or sausage If not I make an iced mocha coffee drink with Protein Powder. I always aim for 25-30g protein at breakfast morning snack is usually string cheese--1 sometimes 2 depends on what i had for breakfast--aim for 5g of protein lunch I will have either chicken or fish with veggies 25-40g depending on what it is--if im in a rush I always have ProtiDiet Soups on hand, they taste pretty decent and can get a quick 15g in. Afternoon snack is either cottage cheese with berries or pineapple or apple puree--or a greek yogurt. 8-15g of protein I always have a 4:30 protein shake--15-25g of protein depending on what brand and how much whey base it is. (on my way to college from work) at 5:30 I'll have hummus and celery as a snack if Im still in class, dinner sadly i either skip it because im too tired after class and have met protein for the day, but I always always have on hand shredded chicken (i crock pot it on sunday and shred it down for the week emergency use) if im prepping something--I really go in and all out and recipe search and prep for something that aims for 20-30g of protein. Sometimes they are awesome casseroles or fish with shrimp and broc. Now that my husband is sleeve i pay more attention because I know he isnt as detail oriented and i dont want him to get sick before i could go all day and not eat--i still can but i choose not too, i have a very strict timed schedule as to Water start and stop times and meal consumption--goes off on work computer and on cell phone. sometimes i can stick sometimes im caught up and just cant...im no angel I make lots of things every chance i have a few spare moments, I'm not much of a go out hang out person on saturdays--i have gotten into habit of doing crustless quiche minis, mini meat loafs, protein brownies, protein icecream. I separate everything into muffin tins and perfect serving sizes so during the week im all grab and go ready. Yes i do eat crunchy cheese doodles and sometimes a nutty bar... any questions hahahah--this seems nuts as i reflect but it really is easy when everything is on hand, the weekends that im running errands things are harder--ive had to eat those purdue ready made grilled chickens while i am actually doing my food shopping to get protein and nutrients in. and unlike other sleevers I love variety--i can eat so little that flavors make it worth while.
  8. U need to take them for yourself---i also wrote all over my bedroom mirror in eyeliner---dates and measurements. That helped during my mega stall
  9. ' Honey--according to my first month scale numbers i lost 32. I didnt see any difference except in my face--i was sad. I have a crazy before and a 4 mth after photo and whoa...we will never see it in the mirror, its mental, but photos--they do it for me!
  10. i need to get to vickis! LOL...im 9 months out. Started at 232 at day of surgery. I am now 153. which is the surgeons projection for my one year mark. I dont have any curves (i have a fake it til u make it body for special days hahahah) so the goal is 125. not too far away!! BTW i had a 3 month stall when i lost 60 lbs at 4 months out...started losing again in November.
  11. you frickin go girl!!!!! yessssss........im clapping for u over here (you didnt lose your boobs) Keep rocking!!!
  12. Blue cross likely will not deny you. They are the easiest from what I hear. My surgeon told me that they actually take into consideration that u lost a few pounds through the process it shows them u are serious and will be a success--they won't be turning around to convert u later and they won't worry so much about u complicating things by not following the plan. Good luck
  13. It gets better by day 5 u will move around again. I had a hard travel pillow that was my best friend!! I lifted 2 gallons of Water on day 7 --bc I felt sooo awesome and thought I was super woman! Popped my right side small incision open--now it's a bullet wound scar. The rest looks great. It will get better. I used to get like a shooting pain every so often for about 2 mths but that was just the body adjusting to this awesome craziness
  14. Yup you will stink a while. Mine went away by week 6ish as I transitioned into solids and regular foods. However my belly button which never before had been funky even being the deep crater it was had then developed the worse smell! Ugh it was bad--muciprocin antibiotic ointment cleared it right up and I've been fine since.
  15. Unjury is amazing!!! The strawberry sorbet is great in crystal light lemonade. The cheese sauce is tasty. The unflavored is truly flavorless and I add that in anything I prepare for me and the hubby--I am his protein police. They send recipes which I great I had a terrible addiction to iced caramel lattes from DD to curb my sweet tooth and now I use the unjury chocolate in a little iced coffee dont even need to add sugar. Buy a bunch of samples. The first time they mixed my order and sent me different flavors than what I ordered. They told me keep them and send me the rest I originally wanted which was great bc I got to try it all. I make vanilla protein icecream out of it too. I'm 9mths post op. I get in 80 to 100g of protein daily between food and usually only one protein supplement. I'm 25 lbs away from the ideal weight of my dreams and I have 3 months until my year mark.
  16. I was sleeved in may 2012 and I'm 25 lbs away from goal. I blew past my dr first year projection my pics are posted I had Dr. Eid in jersey city. My husband had him in Hackensack . Their office is in Paramus
  17. TRY TRY AGAIN...I know people who have gone back and forth with the company and finally got it! Sometimes it takes a week sometimes a few months but they get it.
  18. Ha. I was struggling with this...and it super sucks to watch the clock...but I do. I read a whole feed and take a bite...read a whole feed...take a bite...comment on something...take a bite. I check the clock and look at my portion, is this a good pace__then i adjust to slower or sometimes faster because longer than a half hour on a meal is considered grazing! I hope I get used to this. and Dorrie...I feel the same way. My husband has an appetizer and meal in the time im eating my meal. The first time we went to chilis or server abandoned us! He asked for drink orders I said no thank u and my husband got a soda, then he came back and asked for food orders, I ordered a Soup and my husband ordered his appy and meal. Someone else brought our food out and we were never helped again. A half hour after eating I order a drink to go. We left the same tip we would have left had our bill been the normal 60+bucks (it was less than 30 this time) and I left a note, whether someone is ordering ice Water or filet mignon they deserve courtesy--i mean u do work off of tips correct? Assumptions....OFF TOPIC MY BAD
  19. You have to mess with the percentages I guess...im learning now
  20. thank u this helped so much!
