  1. Mostly when I walk, not at all when sitting. I have not noticed it on deep breath. Hmmm strange.
  2. I am 11 days post op and Have been doing really well and just today started with pain around the port which feels like it is in my lower intestines but prevalent when I walk or bend etc. anyone else have this?
  3. Mine itches all around the port I put benadryl on it last night. It's not the actual incision but all around it and the other incision the little ones are ok. It seems to have a couple of bumps. I wonder if it was a reaction to steristrips, but it did not start right away.
  4. Oct 18th only 8 days before I saw the dr post op
  5. Saw my surgeon for a follow up on Friday and he said I could go to mashies and soft food. My instructions had said one more week eating puréed for 1 meal and drinking shakes as Protein. I am tolerating everything I have tried but have not had chicken or any type of meat. I am little afraid he didn't reallise how little time has gone by. But he has done lots of bands so I am hoping it is ok.
  6. My port is on the right side as well I have 5 incisions but slightly differently placed. Oh well there seems to be many many differences in the pre-op and post op as well. so I guess the incisions are just another variable.
  7. I lost 9 lbs pre-op also seems like a common number
  8. I almost feel back to normal. Yesterday we walked around a small "artsy" New England tow nearby and today I feel very very good. not much pain except being over and getting up from the couch I have not taken any pain med since the Friday (2nd day after surgery). I just realized I could have a cup of coffee (decaf) but haven't yet, funny it was the thing I missed most during pre-op! I can only hope things continue as smoothly as they have so far! All the support through this forum is the BEST! Happy Sunday!
  9. How long did everyone leave the bandages on? I feel like they should be changed or something before I see the Dr. On Friday.
  10. I was banded on Thursday, came home from the hospital today. I hadn't eaten anythig and I am up about 9 lbs? I was on an intevenous for the whole time with fluids could this be it? anyones have this happen. I think I saw this on another.
  11. Surgery was all done by 10:00am a little nausea while in recovery but they gave me something and I feel ok now. Very little pain, so far
  12. Headed to the Hospital in one hour for surgery in 2 hours. One night stay in the Hospital. That's the plan anyway
  13. Surgery day tomorrow. I am a mix of emotions today, Happy, scared, excited, but mostly can't wait to do things like ride a bike and walk the mall without my knees and feet hurting. I already feel so much better having lost the 40 lbs during the last 7 months (since seeing the surgeon the first time) that I can't wait to lose more. I have already put away the NEED for the large portions that got me here. I know there are more challenges along the way but as another poster's said being overweight is a challenge. One I've fought since about 3rd grade. I am ready to see what else is out there in this thing called LIFE.
  14. Thank you all, made it through the night(no cheating etc). I've really been okay on the liquid/veg diet and lost something like 40 lbs already throughout since I saw the Dr. in April, but last night was probably the most challenging and not because of any emotional reasons or outside stimuli but because I was hungry. LOL
  15. HAVING A real tough time tonight 3 days to surgery and I am HUNGRY. Grrr
  16. My surgery is Thursday morning 7:30 Best wishes to you!
  17. Update my surgery is back on for Oct 18th, A lesson here is don't let em shut you down, I did a bit of griping and a little calling and VIOLA! I am back on schedule.
  18. So very emotional right now. My surgery is scheduled for Oct. 18th and they just called and said they may have to push it back a week because a proctor has to be there that can't be there. I've been on the liquid diet since Oct 3 and scheduled my time off from work for 2 weeks from the surgery date. I am really really upset. (just had to vent a litte)

  20. I started my pre op diet ( shakes, 1 veg, 1 fruit and 1 starch) and lost 2 lbs per day until yesterday when I GAINED back 2 lbs very frustrating. I was really strict and careful. Anyone else have this experience?
  21. I am having my surgery on Oct. 18. I just started the two week per-surgical diet today..finding only slightly intolerable. Mainly because of the removal of coffee. I so miss it and have a headache from it. But just keep thinking it will be worth it.
  22. I am practicing the chewing and making the meals longer since I am a fast eater. I have a timer I set for 20 minutes at meals, have to admit I've only gotten to 15 and that's when I am REALLY conscious of it.
  23. Of any thing about the surgery I worry about it's this PBing and vomiting. I haven't been sick in around 20 years. AND I eat fast, (working on it).
  24. Wow just got kind of upsetting news. When I left the Dr office on Tuesday I'd gotten it into my head that it would only be 2-3 months before the surgery. I know that's what the nurse said but now I'm thinking she meant that's how long it takes to find out if the insurance will cover it. I called today and she said 4-6 visits with the Nutritionist BEFORE the surgery. I knew everyone had said it took a long time but thought maybe it had changed. I was all happy thinking I'd have it done over the summer (since I don't work in the summer) but now it looks like Oct. I'm a bit deflated but not much I can do.
