  1. Hi all, I'm only just beginning the process of getting my band out and getting a sleeve. Can anyone say on average how long they waited before going back to work? I'm in a situation where I don't have many vacation days left (going on my honeymoon this week!). My supervisor and job overall are really great and understanding and will probably let me just go on disability for a week at most. I have a desk job where I don't do much labor but I do get up a lot to walk around and carry books/send mail (I work for a publisher). Any thoughts would be great...just doing research here I know everyone's recovery is different and I'm expecting at least a 3 day hospital stay... Thanks.
  2. I'm having it done in two surgeries as well. I find that this varies from surgeon to surgeon. My surgeon also said that risk of a leak go up way more if you do the surgeries back to back. I'm getting my band removed July 13th and then (hopefully) getting my sleeve in early November barring any shenanigans from insurance. however, I understand your concern about having to pay for two surgeries. I know I wouldn't be able to scrape up all that money. My best advice is to let your doctor know your financial concerns and maybe he will try to work with you in the best way possible. Honestly, he really won't know what he's getting into until he's in your stomach. :\
  3. I'm sorry I got confused by your original post. I thought you said you were going from sleeve to band? That's why I was asking because I, too, am really tired of my band and want to get the sleeve surgery.
  4. May I ask why you are revising to the band? I currently have the band and I haven't lost weight in 3 years since the first year I got it. I'm going to the sleeve in the hopes of reaching my goal weight which I was never able to with the band... I'm just curious because I'm trying to find as much research on the sleeve (both good and bad) before going through with another WLS.
