Adding wine back
At some point in the future, I'm going to try wine also when we go out to dinner. I guess that I'll have some wine first, then wait for 20 - 30 minutes and have some dinner. I'm sure there will be some good conversation in between. I hope that I don't get beat up too badly for posting this!

Sashimi--what stage?
Yes, rice is going to be high in carbs. Also, from what I understand, most sleevers don't do well with rice. I believe it swells in your stomach.

Sashimi--what stage?
Thanks! Salmon is my favorite!

Sashimi--what stage?
I'm craving Sashimi. (Since I can't have Sushi). I'm curious to know if it was hard to digest for the sleeve. I'm transitioning to soft foods after the puréed stage. I am assuming that you guys waited until you were released to a regular diet before trying. Also curious to know how many pieces you were able to eat. Thanks!

Low cost, cash pay option
This is from Mactrio: I was self pay and had surgery on Monday 3/25/13) I live in Louisiana and my surgery was done by Dr Thomas Borland in New Iberia, La. He does it as out patient surgery and then you stay at a local hotel (I stayed at candlewood suites) and he makes house calls to check on you. My cost was $9,800 plus the cost of the hotel (mine was 2 nights) I have been extremely pleased with my dr and his staff and the staff at the surgery center. They are professional, friendly & I have no complaints.

Surgery was on 4/10. I wore jeans for the first time after surgery today. Wednesday will be 4 weeks so almost a month for me too.

Calling All April Sleevers
Sleeved 4/10 and I've been struggling. Tried to move to mushy/puréed but I guess I wasn't ready. I'm back on clear liquids for 3-5 days. I feel weak and tired. On the positive side, I've lost 31 pounds but this has been the hardest way that I have ever lost weight. Looking forward to improving and being able to eat.

Pickle juice
Thanks for all the great responses! I checked with my NUT yesterday and she had no problem with a little pickle juice - no more than a couple of ounces. She said to just be mindful of the sodium! Drink away my fellow pickle juice sleevers!
