  1. Hey there, Congrats. I came in here today seeking answers as well. I was banded on 4/09/07 and have not had a fill in about a year. I recently began having heart burn and unable to hold much down. I can probably keep a cup of solids down in a day for the past couple of days but began having heart burn about four days ago. Any suggestions?

Tracy, I personally think you should go ahead and meet up with them get it all out of everyones system. The odds are this will be the last time for lord knows how long. That way you won't feel guilty about not doing it and because your son is young it may not creat as many questions as it would later on. If you feel compelled to do it then get it OVER. Ana

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Hi everyone, I had surgery Monday the 9th and am better but the dog gone port site is kicking my butt. Any suggestions ? Also what liquid medications are best and where can I find them? I need a liquid vitamin that won't make me puke and some tylenol because tyl w/ Codeine is to strong and I don't want to be knocked out all the time.. Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, Does anyone have any suggestions to get my energy level up ? It's 5pm I"m still at work & I"m tired as can be. I started my liquid diet on Monday 04/02/07 and have surgery scheduled for 4/9/07 --Not having major issues w/ cravings or anything just really tired- I'm doing the atkins shakes & mixing my own for variety using the pure whey but energy level still VERY low.. Ana :tired

    Chicago friends

Hi guys, Just found you all, looks like most of you are from the suburbs. I live in the City & am scheduled to be banded on Monday April 9th. Looks like all of you have a Great group here with lots of support. I would love to have the opportunity to participate w/ you guys. I need all the support I can get right now. This one week pre op liquid diet is starting to get to me & it's only the third day.
  10. They gave me a list of ok foods and as long as they are ALL Liquids it looks like I'm ok. You figure if you can drink a homemade smoothie pre op w/ whey you should be okay w/ almost any kind of broth.
  11. Thanks Tracey & Rene, So I get home I'm exhausted & My husband says "I bought chinese is that okay for dinner" I just looked at him & went up to bed. Need less to say he felt horrible I really believe he didn't think at all. So he ran out & bought me some hot & Sour Soup so I can have the liquid. I was eating about 1500 cal a day & now w/ the liquid diet & Protein shakes I think I may be doing like 900 if that. You guys are most likely correct & I'll see about doing an extra shake during the day

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Hi everyone, Tracy, I too made it through my first day of liquids.. I'm okay during the day but find that evenings at home are the worst.. I hope I survive this week... <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wcaUIfB/"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wcaUIfB/weight.png"></a>
  13. All I have had pre op is blood work history and physcial and the swallowing test. does anyone know if they'll do an EKG or anything else ? I"m scheduled for this coming monday 4/9 i'm nervous excited, scared, anxious i can go on & on. As someone said in one of these post. all I can do is Pray on it & let it go.
  14. Hi everyone, I am scheduled for April 9th & am very nervous. I think I'm more afraid and nervous about the liquid diet portion rather than the surgery itself. HOw did everyone cope w/ having to run a household and have surgery.. :faint:

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Hi everyone, well this is it my last week of EVER over eating.. Need less to say I have had chips (which honestly I don't normally do) Pad Thai (my favorite) and am just now freaking out about going on the clear liquid for 7days prior to surgery- I have purchased my jello, broth soups etc but have discovered that the only high protein shake I really like is the atkins. Does any one have any other suggestions.. Ana = Day3447

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Hi there pre bander, I started my journey January 2006-- My insurance covered it but made me jump through hoops prior to doing anything.. I was denied in December 06 & upon appeal with 5yrs worth of Physician notes showing I have been overweight and a peer to peer discussion w/ my physician and the Aetna Health Plan Physician I am Approved. It is a long difficult process, it would have been easier if I had comorbidities but thankfully I do not. I started this journey at 230 and am 215 right now. Keep on going don't quit, that is all the insurance wants you to do.. Ana

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Hi Everyone, I went in for my visit w/ the surgeon today & scheduled for april 9th. I am afraid at this point only because it is "Elective" surgery. My starting weight was 226 and I am down to 213 on my own at this point. I am doing this because I am tired of the yo yo dieting and am very concerned over health issues that may arise from being overweight. The thinnest I have ever been is 110 @ age 10 so that gives you an idea of what I have struggled with my entire life.

    Banded 1/31

Hello out there, I have a question.. Does anyone know how long the left should pain lasts ? I am in the process of getting banded & your all scaring me more w/ the shoulder pain rather than the food issues..
  20. Hi everyone, I meet w/ the surgeon soon and was wondering if anyone has had any experience w/ this guy, out of chicago. :nervous

Were you fat as a kid?

    6 days post surgery

Hey Tiffany, Hang in there, you can make this work. I know it is much easier said than done and although we can sit here and encourage you NO ONE is in your shoes at this moment. One day at a time one hour at a time. It will all be worth it for ALL of us. The pain you are feeling now is better than the long term affects of obesity.
