  1. And 40 pounds down! I feel and look like a totally different person. I'm thrilled with the results of this surgery. So glad I was able to go through with it! What are some of the best work outs in your opinion? I'm trying to work some new stuff into the usual walking/hiking/elliptical workouts
  2. Hey guys, so I had my surgery 18 days ago. Everything has been smooth and wonderful. Except about 45 minutes ago I woke up completely nauseated, light headed, and extremely thirsty. I've not been able to calm my stomach yet. I've had to run to the bathroom a couple times. Is something wrong? Or am I just maybe getting normal sick? Unrelated to my sleeve? I'm worried something is wrong since this is the first time I've felt sickness with the sleeve...
  3. Hahaha thank you so much! I'll take all that :]]
  4. Well, I just got my staples out and I'm down 25 pounds since pre-op diet..so 3 weeks ago! I'm stoked. I got all my lab work back and not a single note was off. The dr. was thrilled to tell me that every level, every test, everything was perfect. I'm just plan old overweight! NOT FOR LONG THOUGH! Anyways, I'm now into full liquids. Any good soups anyone can reccomend, or shakes that taste good and go down easy? Thanks so much!
  5. I'm 5 days out, on a clear liquid diet. And starting this morning, any time I drink something that isn't plain water, I end up running to the bathroom and being in there for awhile emptying out. Sorry if TMI. I just hurt so bad. I had some broth at lunch, almost instantaneously it seemed to go through me. Whats the deal?
  6. Stupid iPhone. How long before gas pains go away? I'm sorry for spelling errors!!
  7. Ow long before gas pains and bloating go away? I'm 4 days post op and it is wearing me down. I feel so full because of all the bloating. Any advice on what to do? I'm walking, drinking and taking gas x. Whats the next few days or weeks look like?
  8. I had my surgery yesterday morning and was supposed to go home today. They say I'm "borderline dehydrated" so I'll have to stay until tomorrow. That part confuses me though because I've been on nonstop fluids, drinking 1oz or more every 15 minutes, and my pee is practically clear! (sorry if tmi) my dad thinks they're milking the fact I've got two private insurances paying for all this. I just want to get home to my baby. How long were you in hospital??
  9. My surgery was scheduled for 7:30 this morning. It's 8 and I'm still in the lobby. Not even to pre-op. I'm running out of patience and I'm so tired. Blah. Okay end of rant //
  10. Thank you so much everyone! And good luck to those also getting sleeved today! I'm sitting up at the hospital waiting to go back to the room now!
  11. I don't think I have to wean him. I just think he has began the process himself, so I'm not to worried anymore. I'll pump at the hospital and nurse him as soon as I'm home and we'll see how it goes.
  12. Hey ladies! Well I get sleeved tomorrow, and I'll let you know how it goes! My son just turned 1 on the 14th, so he's slowly nursing less and less. But I wanted him to wean himself, and me not cut it abruptly. He's down to 4-5 nursing sessions a day, and they are MAYBE 7 minutes long. So I'm thinking he's getting close to weaning anyways. But I will definitely let you know how the next few weeks go!
  13. Ah yikes, the day is coming up. Tomorrow morning at 7:32 in the morning, I will be getting my sleeve. I am so excited, anxious, nervous, happy, scared..you name it, I'm it. Keep me in your thoughts and send good vibes my way. We'll see if I get ANY sleep tonight!
  14. I've been having issues going at all since I started my liquid diet on June 4th
  15. I'm on day 7 and have lost 10 pounds. I'm not starving anymore, thank god, but I've finally grown accustomed to drinking as much water as I can and downing these shakes no matter what. And I've been doing strength training & power yoga daily. What's an average preop weightloss? And do you think this behaviour now is easily Transferred to postop behaviour? I hope so! Haha. Good luck to everyone!! One more week and I'll be sleeved!!!!
  16. I won't be there this Monday, but next on the 18th! Good luck! How did your pre op diet go?
  17. I gave in and ate 1 scrambled egg, fresh spinach side salad with a few chick peas and tomatoes. No dressing. I'm supposed to only have the 4 shakes a day, water, and chicken broth or jello if I need it. Surgery is in 10 days. Did I screw myself with this? I feel awful.
  18. And yes, I bought it from his office so I'm sure he gets a cut.
  19. Yeah..I'm on 4 Bariessential shakes a day, once a day I can have 8 oz of chicken broth, and I can have sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles. I get very jealous reading about you guys who are able to have veggies at the very least. I don't really understand why he's so strict on these two shakes only and nothing else. Thanks for the advice though! I'll try and add some flavor!
  20. What can I do to make them go down easier? 4 days into my 2 week pre op diet and I'm getting sick at the thought, sight, smell and definitely taste of these things. Help!
  21. Have dr David Kim as my dr and I'm on my 2 week liquid diet. I can't call them right now, but I've forgotten my bariessential shake mix at home. I won't be able to get there during the work day. Could I get a low carb slim fast for lunch?
  22. What should I expect?
  23. I ended up getting approved within a week. Thanks for all the responses guys!
  24. The office called today and said my primary insurance approved me and scheduled me for June 18th! I'm so excited!!!
