  1. It's amazing how each doctor is different. Mine said coffee was allowed as long as I got other fluids in also. In other words no drinking it all day. I was even allowed coffee in the hospital.
  2. I too was a coffee lover before surgery. I was sleeved on the 23 rd and after surgery I was begging for coffee. When I got my first cup my mind was set for that ahhhhh moment but my taste buds said no way! So here it is almost 7 days post op and I am having to make mine really weak and can only manage about 4 oz in the morning. From what I have been told the meds the use to knock you out can change your taste buds. I'm hoping mine wake up here soon cuz I miss my dang good coffee.
  3. Patrick created a Facebook page for July then changed it to Summer sleevers of 2012. It's a completely private page and if you would like to join us just look him up and send a message to him to be added or message him here. It's a great place and a lot of support.
  4. Hello NurseJenn. We have a private facebook page for sleevers if you would be interested in joining. Just send me a friend invite and I will add you to the page. I have learned so much from that page and everyone is so supportive there. It really is a small family that we have created. Look me up, Joyce Dixie Peninger, on facebook if you are on there and want to join. Welcome to the losers bench
  5. Good luck to everyone for the July sleevers!!! Patrick has a facebook group for us all and since he is having surgery on the 2nd, I will be happy to add anyone that wants to join us on there. As Patrick has posted earlier " So just post that you want in then hopefully a member will see your request. To speed up the process you can post a link to your facebook profile or the email address you use to login to facebook." Will be happy to add anyone that would like to be a part of us.
  6. For anyone else that wants to be added to the list, its easy to do yourself. Just click quote on any post that has the list on it, I used the original post to add mine. When that little box comes up where it shows what you are quoting, just type in your name by the date you want it to go by. Then click on post. Voila! You will then be added to the list. This is a lot easier than copy and paste I think just a suggestion.
  7. As of today I have 29 days to go till surgery and 2 wks till I start my liquid pre op diet!!! Yea I am sooo ready!!!!
  8. Hope it was ok, but I just added my name to the list.
  9. Please add me to the list on the 23rd. Thank you so much. Dixie
  10. Please add me to July 23!!! I finally got my date Praise the Lord :D
  11. Just wanted to share with you what I first posted on another subject when I joined this site. God didnt intend for us to be this way. When people try to change my mind about doing this or to tell me I am just lazy and this is the easiest way out, I tell them God didnt intend on me being this way and any help I can get to show God I want to take care of what He has given me then I will do it. food is an addiction just like cigarettes, alcohol or any drug. When someone goes to rehab to free themselves from any of those, isnt that a positive sign for them? Public opinion sucks when it comes to getting help to better yourself. So I just laugh at the ones that are against us for doing this step in better health and for those that are very critical about it, just ask God to bless them and move on. Ok done preaching now, sorry but it breaks my heart to hear that some don't have support from loved ones or friends. Thank God for this forum so we can support one another. God bless everyone.
  12. Ty Patrick will check out that facebook page for sure and the July sleevers. I hope my date will be the first week of July also. I am still so excited that I dont think anything could take me off this cloud I am on lol
  13. Hi Everyone! Thought I was going to be a June sleever but circumstances seem to be pushing it toward July. I go back to my doc on the 19th for follow up from the EGD. He said everything looked good after the procedure so I am guessing I will be pushed to the first week of July for surgery. Sure was hoping for June but no matter what its going to happen!
  14. Looks like Im going to be a July sleever but no problem. Its going to happen no matter what lol
  15. Littlebits good luck to you and I will keep you in my prayers. Be sure and let us know how it goes:) so excited for all of us as we begin our new lives!!!
  16. Ty iwannabeslim. Just knowing I'm getting closer has me all excited and ready.
  17. Well I finally had my first consultation with the doctor. I first have to have the EGD done on June 12 and hopefully after that will get a surgery date for the end of June. Keeping fingers crossed it doesnt go into July because I am soooo ready for this as I am sure the rest of ya'll are also that are waiting.
  18. Tomorrow I am meeting with my surgeon for my date to be decided. I am so excited and nervous. Hoping to get it done as soon as possible but thinking it will be around June 11th.
  19. Hey everyone just wanted to share my joyous news!!! My daughter gave birth to my 4 th grand child at 2:46 am. He weighed 10.2 # and is 23 1/2 " long. Momma did an amazing job and I am so proud. Now that baby linebacker Eli is here all I have to concentrate on now is my doc visit, surgery date and the two week liquid diet. After seeing what my daughter just went thru and did I know I can handle anything to do with my journey. It's so amazing how God helps you to see what He wants you to know. Let the journey begin! ????
  20. Reet I too have sleep apnea and hoping it will change after my surgery in June. When I first was diagnosed my doctor had my settings REALLY high and it was causing me some discomfort for a good while even after I got use to using the machine. So I did a search on the internet, found the way to lower my settings and poof! my discomfort disappeared. When I went in for my yearly check up with my doc I told him what I did and he made note in my file about it. He said that was fine, as long as I am using the machine and didn't change the settings way low, he wasn't bothered by what I did. I don't know what brand of machine you are using or were using but check on the internet and see if you can find a way to lower the settings some. I know what you mean about the sleep study, I hate doing that and probably won't do another one to find out if I can stop using it. Just thought I would pass this info on to you in case it might help.
  21. Guess I will find out the diet design on May 24th when I go to the surgeon to schedule my surgery. We are shooting for June 11, and if cant get that date Im going to demand somewhere in that week lol. If the diet is the same as what you are doing I can handle that. Well at least I say I can lol, big talk for a big gal, who wants to be a smaller woman. HA! Bet I end up eating my words huh? Oh wait, there I go again referring to food.
  22. Gentle hugs to you blondegal. Thank you for letting us know how you are doing. I don't know if the air bubbles you are dealing with are anything like what you deal with after you have other types of laparoscopic surgery done, but I feel your pain. Have had many procedures done this way and the gas left behind ( excuse me), HURTS LIKE HELL!!!!! Ok sorry just had to say that. Have you tried gas-x, if you can use it? The first time I had anything done with laparscopy, my sister was with me. She had had the same thing done previously and told me what I would need after I got home. I was shocked when I found out her solution for the pain but it worked lol. She made me a HUGE cup of hot tea laced with whiskey, and laced is the understatement. Maybe I should say made me a cup of whiskey laced with tea? lol Have to say it worked or I just didn't care any more hahaha. I'm not saying to do this but would be a nice idea if we could Hope you get to feeling better.
  23. Ty Mina good luck to you also. I am trying to prepare my body for the liquid diet. Giving up my half n half in my coffee is the most major thing to start with. If I can conquer that then I think I can handle the rest.
  24. Ya'll forgive me for posting this here but I just cant stand it lol. My daughter is expecting her 2nd baby, my fourth grandchild and found out today she is 1 centimeter dilated. Now I know that doesn't mean much cuz she could go on for awhile like this, but her due date is the 27th and since her baby is going to be a really big boy the doctor said next week if she hasn't had him they will induce. The reason I am telling this is I was hoping she could have him before I go see my doctor and start doing the 2 wk liquid diet. Would not be a pretty picture with her in labor and me on nothing but liquids trying to give her moral support lol. They would have to give me an epidural also hahahah. Ok I'm done with my story. .
