I am experiencing the exact same thing 6 days out! My suggestion was what Phi Phi said, word for word, from my surgeon~
I know mine is not gas, I felt the whole gas thing, and had it gone by the first day or two.
Id like to keep up with you, and see when yours subsides. Are you covering your stitches KCCGN? I was instructed to leave mine uncovered, except for an extra one that I have from having my GB taken out at the same time.

Some of you know that I have a DVT (blood clot) and two pulmonary embolisms before surgery because of pneumonia. You might remember that I've been on coumadin since last June because of those clots. I had an appt with my pulmonary doctor yesterday and he told me that I could refuse to continue taking the coumadin. He couldn't NOT prescribe it because my test results still say I'm high on clot factor, but with my weight loss and activity level, he wouldn't argue with me if I refused the medicine, so I refused it.
As a precautionary measure, he ordered an ultrasound of my legs, the site of the blood clot before. I had that ultrasound today and my legs are not only clot free, the tech couldn't even tell where the clot had been!!
She also complimented me on the amount of muscle in my thighs, although that muscle made it harder for her to do the ultrasound.
I'm a happy and HEALTHY girl today!! I think I can predict that I will outlive the death sentence the doctors handed me last year! THAT is worth a happy dance all on it's own!!!

A year ago yesterday my life changed forever! I made the best decision I ever made besides marrying my darling third husband lol. I had a VSG with Dr. JOhn Feng of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation- my hero.
I started this journey at 280 pounds, depressed, reclusive, hibernating and in constant pain.
Last week I hit my surgeons goal of a normal BMI and 118 pounds lost....WOW! Still losing and am not sure where I will end up.
I went from that reclusive existance to doing nine Zumba classes a week, 8 Water classes, walking three miles a day with my husband and dog. I am toned, energetic, ALIVE!!!! Alas the pain is stil there but the lightness of being helps so much.
VST was such a wonderful support for me, and though I have gone on the many Facebook pages that give challenges and daily support, I will always come home to this Forum!

Gone? The Attitudes adjusted...everyone on this forum is friendly and willing to offer their experience, support, and opinions. Noone here can offer medical advice nor say what may be right for everyone. They can only offer up what they personally have experienced or have knowledge of. So attacking someone for offering what is exactly the point of this site was rude and unacceptable. All opinions should be read with your own physicians advice in mind. If a post is made that you don't care for, u are not required to respond to it or berate the person offering it. We are all friends in the same boat from all different walks of life and different surgeons. Everyone here deserves kindness and respect. Its what I have found VST to be grounded upon. Love all you guys here. You've become my comfort, my teachers and my friends.

Just an FYI for anyone who buys Premier Protein shakes from costco. They have a $5.00 off coupon in the add for the protein. It's good for about a month, I think. There is a limit of 2 but my Costco let me keep my coupon so I can reuse it should I want more. Also, if you didn't get the coupons, go to Customer Service. They will give you another booklet with them all on there.
Also, there is a coupon in there for gummie Vitamins. I think it was for $2.50 or $3.00 off.

I had my sleeve Feb 21st. 2012. and am pretty happy so far. I work for Kaiser who has support groups but my work schedule doesn't allow me to go at this time. I am hoping to go sometime soon though. In the mean time, I am looking for support and friends on here.

What a roller coaster ride these last couple of weeks! I am still learning to "eat" with my new stomach. I am still trying to figure out how not to overeat. I have thrown up three times because it is true... dense Protein (chicken, tuna, fish...any type of meat for me) is so filling and after just a few bites, I am full. I usually don't know I am overfull until I feel like OMBAIP (one more bite and I will puke!) ....
I am doing really well with no drinking before or after a meal.
Anyway, enough with the rambling. I am down 24 pounds since my actual surgery.... happy about that but I am still VERY MUCH a work in progress.

I haven't been on this site in awhile and I'm happy that I have came back to it. On April 5th it will be one year since I have had my surgery. Coming up to my sleeve "anniversary" so much has changed in my life. In just shy of a year I have lost 135 pounds and am happier then I could have ever imagined. Whenever anyone asks me o are you happy with what you did I tell them with out hesitation yes I am. I feel great I can do things I never thought I could do I can run not have to worry about not being able to fit in a small space these are just some examples. The best feeling in the world was when being out with my friends one of my friends picked me up and carried me and in the same night two of them saying "sit in the middle your the smallest of us all " never have I thought I would be the small one or the one being carried. Hurt from my personal experience I am so happy with my decision I made if I had to do it again I would with out a doubt. Once and awhile I still feel like I am in the same body sometimes it is hard to realize I have physically changed so much but other times I see myself and get overwhelmed with how different I am and how happy I am with myself!!! Attached are pictures of my transformation during the one year time

This is me rite before surgery then at -60 then me currently

This is me currently with some friends

This is me before and after Before was taken a week before surgery after taken 11 months after surgery

    11 months after surgery

Two months before surgery. At this time I already knew I was going to have the sleeve

    11 months after

5 months after surgery All I can say is what a change I've had !!!!

Today is my one week surgiversary! I made it. I was sleeved on April 19 th. The first few days were challenging, but it's so true that each day gets better and better. I'm only taking half of the pain meds and only once or twice a day. I'm able to walk to both of my sons bus stops when they get home from school. It's been hard to get all the Water and Protein in, but each day I get in a little more. I'm happy for the progress even though it's small, but every day counts. I'm so thankful for this forum and those who share. On the tough days I came here for support and information and it truly helped a lot. I know that things will continue to improve. A few things I've learned so far:
    1. Never trust a fart and when you feel like you have to go, for heavens sakes GO!
    2. Listen to your body and trust its cues.
    3. Let people help you even when you think you can do it. One small task may take you over the edge before you realize it.
    4. When you feel good, keep resting! Don't overdue it.
    5. Keep a positive attitude and remind yourself that things will get better.
I have lost 14 pounds since surgery. I lost 20 pounds before going into surgery. Overall I've lost 34 pounds and it feels fantastic!
Good luck to all those who have yet to be sleeved and keep going to all those who have recently been sleeved!
    God Bless!!!

I never realized how different people see me until the other day. I'm 13 months out, down 100lbs and have run a half marathon since surgery. I have now seen 2 promotions in work and am reaching out to friends I haven't seen in ages. I have energy to spare! I'm working a 12 hour shift tomoro, then heading over to my parents to be a grunt worker while they declutter to move. I see all this and I think, " well yes, I did this over time and I am proud". My aunt doesn't see me alot, but we are Facebook friends. I saw her the other day and she was talking about how well I'm doing and how inpiring I have become. Inspiring??? Me??? It turns out there was a family discussion about me and how much I have changed since surgery. They can't believe my attitude and the fact that I wear colour now ( I used to be a plain white t kinda girl). I guess I never realized! It's amazing what this surgery gave me. Not only the will to live, but the will to succeed!!

I think I have been harder on myself than anyone else and I finally decided to go to the sleeve. When people ask I say," Haven't you heard that it cures diabetes and hypertension by changing the levels of stomach hormones?". This usually ends the discussion.

It used to bother me....but anyone that knows me, knows that I haven't taken the "easy" way out. My sleeve is simply a wonderful tool that has helped me in ways that diet alone has never done.
I manage a group of about 20 people at work and some of my staff have asked their supervisor (who knows about my surgery) how I've lost my weight. I guess she says to them "She's eating right, is training for a triathlon and works her butt off for it everyday!" I loved hearing that!!!
