Good luck to you. I will be banded June 1st so I am interested to know how you do on the clear liquids.

I was told if we drank with eating it would just wash the food out of the pouch. You are the first person I have heard say this. I would like to know if this has worked for anyone else.

Dr Rehnke will be doing surgery on June 1, 2012. He has come highly recommended to me. My insurance company will only cover WLS at a facility that is certified as a Center of Excellence. He operates at Palms of Pasadena and they have that certification and he is rated as their top bariatric physician.

I went through this same thing a few days ago. Before I started my liquid diet a few days ago I went and got my favorite meal. I didn't over eat, I just enjoyed it and now I have moved on. I want this or I wouldn't have jumped throught all of the hoops my insurance company put me through. You want it to and you are making the right decision. You can do it!

If I were you I would wait and do it all at once.

Yes... day 4 and I am not going too far from a bathroom. All of the liquid is going right through me.

Wow, you have a 3 week liquid diet pre-op? Good luck to you, I am on day 4 of my liquid diet and I am scheduled for June 1st. So far I am doing good. I am on Optifast 800 and I have not really been hungry. I just keep a glass of water around and drink anytime I think I hungry.

That is funny. I have not had any real food cravings since I got my approval too. I started my 2 week liquid diet 3 days after my approval. So far so good, I feel like I am in control over my food instead of it controlling me. Good luck to you.

I decided on the lap band because it is reversible and adjustable. Knowing that if I need to tighten it to reach my goal or loosen, if I want, when I go on a vacation is what made my mind up. It is a tool that you can use how you need and want to use it.

Oops.... Diet not died

I am glad there are a few of us scheduled for June. I start my preop liquid died this Friday so it will be nice to have people to talk to about it. I am scheduled for surgery Friday June first. That also happens to be my 43rd birthday.

I am scheduled for June 1st and have to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. My doc is putting me on Optifast. I can only drink 3 Optifast drinks a day and have all of the water and sugar free liquids I want. I want to loose 10 to 20 pounds before my surgery.

I was denied on May 4th because the insurance company needed more info. I got them everything they asked for on the 8th and I got my approval today. I start my 2 week liquid diet Friday and have the surgery on June 1st. Find out what more your insurance company wants and get it to them right away. I does not hurt to include a letter from you stating the diets you have tried, your medical problems and why you need the surgery.

That is a great question! I would like to know what I need too. I have done everything that my insurance has asked for and am now just waiting on an approval. Once I get that they tell me it will about 2 weeks before my surgery date. I do have to be on a 2 week liquid diet. I figure the better prepared I am the easier everything will go.
