Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I have stayed the same for about 3 weeks...hoping this stall breaks soon. I have gone astray as far as eating protein, because it does fill you up too much...I am trying to get back to it. I ate turkey burger for lunch, plain, with about two bites of lettuce with a little ranch. I need to get back to my taco salads... They were good. The protein shakes had started making me sick to my stomach, and I have read other people have the same problem. They used to not bother me. So I have not been drinking those. I have drank skim milk for protein, and milk can be heavy. I am eating small amounts of salad...love, love, and just a piece or so of meat. I have tried cereal for breakfast...it does not fill me up like protein does...which I welcome that every once in a while. Sometimes I feel I am eating too much, and then I start measuring again and realize it is only 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food...if it is protein, it is less...still loving my sleeve, but want to rock it a little harder so I can get to one-derland. I feel I could do it in a month if I really set my mind to it... Congratulations to everybody on the weight loss. It looks like we are mostly losing the same...I haven't lost 50 yet, but I am close to it.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I went on a tomato binge...I put tomatoes in everything. Rolled up turkey slices, a little lettuce with tomatoes sliced in my food processor (which makes them real thin), something about the tomatoes really fill you up. I have heard other people talk about watermelon, and I haven't tried that yet, but I bet it is the same effect as tomatoes. I have had a couple of grapes. Those weren't too bad. Don't really like bananas with my sleeve. I always hated water, now I love water...especially if it is soured with some lemon...I think I am right at 40 pounds lost, and my three month mark is next Tuesday. My 3-month dr visit is on the 16th. I wanted to be at 50 by then, but I am not so sure I am going to make that...but, I am not disappointed in what I have lost. And this two-week stall could throw off ten pounds by then. Who knows? I just wanted to congratulate you on your 89 pound loss...and say thanks for the encouraging words.

  5. Very amazing...you can see your shape returning to normal...I've lost pretty evenly all over too. I am losing now, but I don't feel like it...maybe it is in my feet. Some days I feel bigger than ever...but I am wearing some regular 18s today...all of my 18s are fitting, some are just a little snug...but I feel like I can probably wear 18s until I hit 200.

Water does make a difference, and I think I am going to add my shake back in. Trail mix (planters brand) has caught my attention, and I think I need to lay off of it...I don't know why nuts and raisins sit well...

    Motivation Needed................................please

Try buying a workout DVD...like Demante Dance or something...they are fun. You can do it in your home right when you get in from work while your dinner is cooking...I have a gym membership that I rarely use, but when I did DVDs, I pretty much did them every day...I let someone borrow my favorite, and now I am not doing it as much...but I looked at one of the Leslie Sansome walking DVDs, because that is for five days a week and you average about 2.5 miles a day. I thought that might be something I could use cause it is so darn hot down here. Anyway, you don't need anything to walk in front of the TV...just the DVD...
  8. I get a lump in my throat and can't swallow...and have to stand up and walk around if I eat too much...

    On A Scale Of 1-10....

Would do it over and over and over and over again if I had to....wish I had done it 15 years ago...I love being in control of what I eat...once you get past the restrictions, you can just about eat anything....I am sometimes in awe at how much less I am eating than before...food goes way further now...I don't eat all the leftovers...I don't snack...I don't eat a meal before the meal....I drink water all the time...love, love, love my sleeve. Now, if I could just kick start my butt to exercise!!!!!!!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I ate potato chips, real ones, and only had 5...they were so good. They tasted so potatoey...That was the only time. I think it was Mother's day...I have not had any ice cream....I have not eaten anything sweet, except some trail mix...oh, and I make iced coffee.
  11. I went through all of the clomid and the other stuff, where you take the injections every day for two weeks, FSH, and then LH, and then something else...anyway, I finally got pregnant...it was a long and arduous road though...don't give up...try to relax...(P.S. when I got pregnant, we only did it one time that month, on the 21st day of my cycle)...I was about at the giving up stage...

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Keep on keeping on...it will come off. Someone else said they had to walk three miles a day to bust their stall. I just woke up one day and had lost ten pounds from the day before. Plus, it looks to me like you have lost a lot of weight, so your body is still probably freaking out from the surgery. Try just a straight low-carb diet for a few days and see if that helps. I stay away from sugar, but I have found that seafood sits pretty well. And I have also found if I don't get in my water, I will stall. Try giving up one thing, like something Splenda laden. I have found that Crystal Lite will stall me if I drink too much...but since my surgery, I love water - with lots of lemon juice...don't know why, because I never liked water.

Is This All Normal? What Am I Doing Wrong?

Somebody had mentioned the trail mix to me, and surprisingly, it sits very well, but yesterday was the first time I had tried it.

Is This All Normal? What Am I Doing Wrong?

Liquids...I eat every couple of hours. Once you start real food, you can only eat a few bites, so I usually eat something every two to three hours...sometimes I only eat twice a day; sometimes 6 times a day. When you are just out of surgery, I mean, up to 3 weeks post op, the communication to your brain that you are full or hungry just isn't quite there. Once you start eating real food, it is heavy. I ate five grapes the other day and thought I was going to burst. I am one of those tasting cooks...so by the time I get food ready for everybody, I am full...I have to quit that. Just take it slow. The first few weeks are a little frustrating because of the limited selection. Remember, the inside of your stomach is having to heal over the staples, so be very careful about eating anything. Just stick to your liquids and mushies...or whatever your doctor told you...I was on mushies until 6 weeks out. I still occasionally do mushy days...Yesterday, I had one Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit(which was not at all good), and then I had one bite of tomato, about 2 ounces of turkey, one 3 oz bag of planters trail mix, 2 oz chicken poppyseed casserole (without the poppyseed and no rice in it...I also did my chicken in my food processor on the slice, so it is small pieces) 2 oz collards, and I was so full, but I felt like a pig...so it will get easier with time...and the weight will come off consistently. I will be eight weeks out Tuesday.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

We are all so funny...wow, I've only lost 33 pounds in seven weeks...or, oh, no, I haven't lost anything in three days, after I just lost fifty pounds...LOL...we are so impatient...Maybe that's why conventional diets didn't work for us. I think the same thing, oh, so-and-so has lost 20 pounds more than me in the same amount of time...what are they doing that I am not? I find it funny now, and I am the world's worst....

    Not Exercising Yet....

I still sometimes feel weak and dizzy...I am seven weeks out. I am going to Pilates tonight, and I was planning on a pump-it up class tomorrow morning, but I will see how Pilates goes. I need to build back my stamina...it's too hot to walk already. So I will have to try the treadmill.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

That's the way it is...Some days, I don't really even feel like eating, and then other days, I am starving...some days, a little; some a lot....just listen to your sleeve. It gets easier and easier....

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Hey, Joni and Ltarlton, I added y'all to my conversation with MeginNola so you could read some of her great advice...

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Joni, I think your weight loss is great. I didn't lose much either. The pre-op week of liquids, I didn't lose an ounce. I had lost ten pounds at one week post-op, but that was two weeks of liquids, one of which was clear liquids...And then recently, I did not lose a single pound for 18 straight days...then, I got on the scale and I had lost ten pounds overnight. I am 7 weeks out yesterday, and I have lost a total of 40 pounds, including the 7 pounds before my pre-op liquid diet. So really, only 33 since surgery...but, hey, I will take it...I would not have lost this much before surgery, and I can tell I am losing every single day. It may not show on the scale, but I know it is coming off. Also, my attitude is better, and I really do feel better...one of my NSVs was painting my own toenails and doing my own pedicure...my energy is still not 100 percent, but I am getting stronger every day, and you will too...and 24 pounds is awesome...

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

she also suggested roasted vegetables and tells how to do it. She also gives a lot of good tips on foods that made her feel bad, which most of them are the same for everybody, I think...flour and pastas and rice being some of the main culprits. Anyway, just check out her posts.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

There is also an in topic: You need to know what I just discovered, that covers some of these issues, also. But MeginNOLA makes iced coffee, with a little Hershey's lite syrup, and I went out and bought it to try the iced coffee idea. I do mine in the blender, coffee, 1/2 scoop of chocolate whey protein, splenda, ice, cinnamon, all blended up and then when I pour it in my cup, I squirt a little syrup on it...it is really good.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Read posts and blogs by MeginNOLA...she was sick until 7 weeks out and she talks about antacids, and she really has a lot of great tips. She was kind enough to message me her diet...and gave me some great pointers. I am sure she will be happy to address these issues with y'all. She has a lot of posts about the same things...
  25. KFC mashed potatoes and gravy was my go-to on mushies...I didn't really like beans. I didn't have meat until week 5.
